Problem is small forward we are after a tall one

We're getting one. 6'5 and 88KG's . Goes by the name Dan McStay. You'd better learn to live with it because it's happening.I'm willing to go ALL In on him kicking more goals in 2023 than Mihocek.

That's a big call, assuming you are only intending to count goals kicked in the AFL. Mihocek averages twice as many goals per game as McStay - and has been doing that despite being played completely out of his depth as the main forward target. McStay has never kicked more than 28 goals in a season. Mihocek has done that in 5 of his 6 seasons with us - the exception was 2020, when the season was shortened and matches were only 3/4 normal length. Even in that year, he kicked more than twice as many goals as McStay (25 versus 11). McStay also averages fewer kicks, fewer marks, fewer handballs and fewer goal assists per game than Mihocek.

^^ The McStay drafting only makes sense to me if we're planning to use him as a key defender, an area where we have a clear need.

I entirely agree with this:

Fb: Maynard. McStay. Howe
CHB: Quaynor Moore. Crisp
Centre: Josh Daicos. Pendles. Sidebottom
CHF: Henry. Kreuger. McCreery
FF: Elliott Mihocek. Ginnivan

Ruck. Cameron. De Goey
Rov: Mitchell

IC (From) Bobby Hill Lipinski Cox Adams Nick Daicos Bianco Noble Wilson MacRae Draper Kelly Ruscoe Fiorini, Frampton Poulter McInnes Murphy Murley Hoskin-Elliott Begg Johnson Dean Madgen Carmichael

Assuming Grundy gone...

Ain’t going to happen. Leppa worked with McStay at Brisbane, converting him from a defender into a forward. He’s hardly going to be re-converting him back into a defender. He can ruck in the forward line. That’s his role. Frampton is the one earmarked to play into the back line. Ironically Frampton was converted from a forward into a defender.

Don't mind this. Looks pretty lively. Been a while since we had a decent, quick little crumber. I hope Bobby's that guy

I watched a video clip labelled 'Bobby Hill highlights package' but i think it was a misprint. Looked more like a Toby Greene promotion.

Macstay Forward for Henry who will be gone- Frampton Back
Poulter will be gone.

Fairly sure Nick Daicos can find a spot in the starting 18.

Not being smart, but are you sure about that? In Leppa's last year at Brisbane (2016) the stats indicate that McStay kicked 4 goals for the year. Looks like he may have been playing in defence for the season.
He has definitely been playing as a forward since then. Just not a particularly good one.

Where's Checkers? And Hill has to fit in.

I too thought McStay would have to go back but we're clearly after Frampton to replace Roughy so McStay must be going forward.

If Charlie Dean can secure a spot in the back six as well as Frampton

Murphy Frampton Maynard
I.Q. Moore. Dean

Where would that leave Howe McStay & Kreuger?

Where's Checkers? ......

Starting as medical sub, ready to come on 5 minutes into the first quarter after Freddie K dislocates both shoulders and does a fetlock when landing awkwardly from his first (albeit spectacular) marking attempt.

Love the guy, but he's a danger to himself.

Looks like a future second and a swap of third rounders (in our favour) for this year. GWS have pick 40. Hope it's our last third rounder at 49.
