Could be but hope not. If it is, the morons will call for flatter pitches. There's nothing wrong with the pitch. It's great that there are conditions that are fair to bowlers. It's the batsmen's fault if the game ends early.

Most modern batsmen are flat-track bullies. We saw that in the first session. No surprises at all what happened to three of the first four batsmen.

On a very flat SCG pitch Mr. NickIt, Khawaja, can score two centuries. But when there's some movement, we know what'll happen. He nicks off.

And no surprise that Smith was squared up and dismissed for a duck. We saw that same technical defect in both innings of the Adelaide Test. Anderson was the bowler in the first innings, Broad in the second. Channel 7 showed them in split screen. They were almost identical. Robinson just did what Anderson and Broad did before him. Wonder if Channel 7 can make a triple-split screen to show viewers.

Good counterattack by Head and Oz's best batsman, "good average" Marny. They shared a fast 50 partnership. That included 38 runs in 3 1/2 overs. But ugly dismissal for Marny. The commentators reckon that was a plan. If Head had played in Sydney, he would've scored a century in both innings, instead of Khawaja. Khawaja just got lucky to be given a spot through COVID on a very, very flat pitch.

Most impressed with Labu & Head. Labu (dropped on 0) took back the initiative, after the hosts were 3/12, with 9 fours.

Head's run-a-ball half ton has been a delight to watch.

Oz 4/136. Head 60*, Green 24*.

Half century partnership.
