For what it's worth...

Star Giants youngster Adam Treloar seems almost certain to request a move to Collingwood, in preference to his other serious suitors Richmond and North Melbourne. The Giants will demand a steep price for Treloar, however, and if the Pies struggle to satisfy them, Richmond could try to re-enter the race.

Meh! Confused

Maybe but he is NOT going to solve our problem in the forward line.

Surely the 'pies are interested in kicking enough goals to win???

Then again, maybe not......... Rolling Eyes

Just play bloody 22 midfielders, now there's a thought.......... Shocked

Strong midfields create more and better quality scoring opportunities. A lack of scoring is not solved by improving the forward line alone.

Just like defence is not the sole responsibility of the 6 people playing in the backline anymore.

A superstar midfield can cover both an average forward line and backline. A star-studded forward line can not compensate for an average midfield.

I support the Pies attempts to land Treloar and Aish.

Exactly. Anyone remember how potent our our forward line of Dawes, Cloke, Macaffer and Blair looked in 2010 and 2011 when we had the most dominant midfield in the league.

I sense the club is very bullish about the impact our young gun, Darcy Moore, will have next year, after he completes another full pre-season and adds on a few kilos of muscle. Then there's also the possibility that the raging bull, Abbott, will add another dimension as well as the greater use of Swanny up forward.

I may be wrong, but I thought rookies are on 1 year contracts and I'm not entirely convinced Abbott will be at the club next year. I do like what he potentially provides, that 3rd forward/Jake Stringer type, it does seem like though his fitness levels are questionable.

The only way Abbott won't be at the club next year is if he decides to go back home. No way would the club de-list him.

I was at a 'dinner with Dane Swan' event on Monday night in South Melbourne, Dane's entourage was Marley & Abbott. The kid seems to be settling in nicely.
