Aussie Rules, Our Game, has fast become a Franchise business.

Our Game has been hijacked by Bean-counters.

If we're to look at overseas examples, why only the obvious & greedy ones?

Why not look at the Irish model for instance, where players have a real connection to their Clubs, where passion, local support, drives a beautiful & successful football culture.

I ask again, why the MCG and Nagai Stadiums as our Home Grounds ..... and whatever happened to our beloved Victoria Park?

I was telling my Italian neighbour last night that Collingwood is planning to play their Away matches in Japan ..... he wants to know why Collingwood is excluding Italy as their away country. I put to him that you never know in these days of market-forces and then I got thinking about Pakistan ... now there's a commercial opportunity crying-out to be taken, afterall the Aussie cricketers have just bailed-out!

The Japan proposal is a wake-up call to anyone who believes that Our matches should not be taken from Us.

How would it be if the AFL required Collingwood to play their Away matches in Japan?

Yes! We'd say, of course, why didn't we think of this, great idea!

It'll put our Club on the Big stage, fantastic opportunity for all of those poor deprived citizens of the world to experience what we've had all this time. Selfish lot we are! Keeping it to ourselves, just thinking about us. We need to be thinking more progressively, or we'll be left behind.

Demetriou is right, of course we should let our Club play as many matches overseas as is forever possible. It's the only way to go! Otherwise, our Club will fall apart, shrivel up into nothingness!

How is it that discussion on the Japan Magpies has been encouraged, but a couple of days into it, it's gone quiet?
