I'd like to see him throw a couple of opponents to the ground, he's strong enough to do it, and see what the umpires do.Find the line in the sand (there will be one somewhere!). We know the defenders are allowed to hold and wrestle Cloke, but I haven't seen him throw anyone around yet (ala Alistair Lynch). I suspect he'll get pinged but it'd be interesting to see, you never know maybe the umps would interpret something like that as using your strength in the marking contest and if that's the case all of a sudden Cloke would benefit from the new rules.

When he's out of form it's normally for the season, we've never tried dropping him, if you think we're a chance of the flag this year with Cloke is his current form I'd suggest you're deluded, we need to get his head right. _________________ Defender...........

On form Trav deserves to be dropped, IMO injuries to other KPPs is the only thing preventing it.
What the **** is going on with the bloke? He took one mark tonight iirc, he's been absolutely horrid this year. |
Can I have some of what you've been smoking please?? Must be some good shit.
Edited version of what I posted on another topic, the Cloke bit is relevant here.......

Everyone gets sucked up into the zone/press/flood, including Cloke, that when we do win the ball back there is nobody inside forward 50 to kick it to!!!!
And when we do eventually bomb it to Travis Cloke, he is still busy trying to get back into position whilst 2 blokes are running with him.
Or we turn it over fiddling around waiting for someone to present.
The other part - what's happened to the art of kicking the ball to a "50-50" contest to the advantage of your teammate???? Cloke rarely gets the ball kicked a couple of metres to his right when the defender is on his left side........ |

I'm sick of hearing about delivery etc etc, it's an excuse, the best KFs find a way, if plan A isn't working they go to plan B, Cloke has no plan B, he always engages his opponent when he should be jumping at the ball and marking it at it's highest point (ala Saint Nick), numerous times he's been one out inside 50 and he chooses to direct the ball to his 50/50 contest instead of working to provide a more attractive target, the way he's playing is making life very easy for his opponent, he's been beaten by kids this year. _________________ Defender...........

All I can say is that what happened to the Cloke bloke who was the best contested mark in the competition. If he is not right physically give him some time to heal and recover. _________________ Now Retired - Every Day Is A Saturday |

Wayne Carey wouldn't be marking it at the moment the way we play/the way Cloke is asked to play.
He cannot get a clean run and jump at the ball for reasons mentioned in my previous post.
He cannot outwork his opponent one-on-one for reasons mentioned in my previous post.
He cannot lead out from the goalsquare for reasons mentioned in my previous post.
Defender - I'd suggest you get to a game live so you can see for yourself.
Looks incredibly easy to do all of the above on TV. _________________ "I am a great sage, equal of heaven.

I suggest you get your head out of ya arse, Cloke is paid to perform, if there isn't a way he has to find a way, he isn't the only KF who has to put up with sub par delivery. _________________ Defender...........

It seems the petty squabbling is on again
Ladies, you're both right:
Multiple choice questions:
The issues for Cloke are
1. Disposal to Cloke is shocking most of the time or
2. Cloke is being double & triple teamed a lot of the time or
3. Cloke is under-performing or
4. None of the above or
5. All of the above
Analysis:
If you picked
1. You need to see an ophthalmologist for limited vision
If you picked
2. You need to see an ophthalmologist for limited vision
If you picked
3. You need to see an ophthalmologist for limited vision
If you picked
4. You've been watching Newcastle United in the EPL or you need to see a psychiatrist quick smart
If you picked
5. You win the Franco Cozzo lounge suite.
What wasn't mentioned was how much of 1-3 above play at any one game for Cloke. _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

^You missed #6.
- The way we set-up is not all that conducive for a FF/CHF to dominate.
(which should be higher so as to be included in the "all of the above" option.)
I've stated a myriad of reasons his numbers are no good this year, no need to list them again. Although he could help that cause by taking chest marks and kicking straighter.
It's not a case of "he has to work harder" (paraphrasing). That is tripe. When at the ground, watch how he's being asked to play.
To suggest he should be dropped is a special kind of daft!!
---------------------------------------------
Yes, I do watch a lot of Newcastle United, and yes, I am in need of psychiatric evaluation as a result.
Unrelated to Travis Cloke's output though.
By the way, your game show is no good, needs a more charming host. _________________ "I am a great sage, equal of heaven.

You lack vision, we all know dropping him will hurt us, but what if dropping him clicks him into gear? We all know it's a mental thing, short term pain for potential long term gain, as I said earlier we need to make him angry, an angry Trav is scary, refer to the tigers game last year. _________________ Defender...........

He can be as scary as he likes, but if we're setting up the way we do currently, he's going to be more of a contributor than a superstar. With the odd dominant game every once in a while. _________________ "I am a great sage, equal of heaven.
