Port might well beat the Lions. Will be funny if it happens.

Unless I have missed something, they can’t meet until a grand final. So it won’t be funny if that happens, not funny at all.

Cam posted before the Lions-Port QF.

Port or GWS for us.

I see that Port & the Dees are both faves in their respective games, but not by a whole lot.

Still, I prefer Port to be our next opponent.

Will thoroughly enjoy a stress free weekend watching these two battles.

QF results fine, EF results not...

So here's what I wanna see:

Melb beat Carl, Port beat GWS;
Brissy beat Melb, Pies beat Port;
Pies beat Brissy.

So Port in the PF, Brissy the GF. Not great, but...

I'd prefer not to play the same oppo twice in finals (so Melb out).
But way, way, way too stressful if we played Carl in the GF.

And Port are fading with injuries and form. GWS are building.

Is Port Adelaide still the preferred opponent?

I’m easy not fussed
GWS means they have to travel more then port
More travel means more disruption
GWS I feel we have got the runs on the board with them this year I feel we played them at the MCG we won easy
Port same
I’m either or
As long as Collingwood are in great shape for the game we should win it easy
Even with Adams out we have depth for Adams in our list
GWS is revenge from 2019 preliminary
I hope they bang themselves up tonight that’s all
All I know the premlim is definitely Friday night

Yeah, I would say so.

The suggestion that our Friday night preliminary final might be dependent on them winning gives us extra reason to support them now imo.

There must be truth to this Saturday game if GWS win. In other seasons the preliminary finals have been set in stone even before the semis have played out (usually by the Wed before the semi), but not this season. Laura Kane must really have it in for us.

I'd say yes as they appear the more banged up of the two and will be relying on the home ground advantage to do a lot of the heavy lifting tonight.

GWS under a first year coach have gotten better as the year has unfolded as you'd expect, they want to play a fast attacking brand of football and when you look at the names in the side aren't short on talent.

If they roll Port then they're clearly in the type of form that will test us.

For me, a definite yes. GWS can comeback from an early deficit and cause serious worry but Port are more likely to panic and then choke.

^ GWS’ style of running in waves, generating scores from the back half and using the corridor is similar to ours.

McRae and Kingsley both came from Richmond so their influence from the Tigers has rubbed off.

The AFL create these Frankenstein sides stuffed with draft pick concessions. They are very hard to beat. I am doubtful we will do so next week.

Turn it up, Port are an injured and battered team, having to play unfit players, and it shows. we will be a vastly different opponent to Port. Confused

Sure, but GWS are the opposite. Would you honestly expect us to be so destructive of Port in Adelaide ? The AFL tilted the playing field when GWS started up and maintained concessions right up to this year. In an even competition, advantages accumulate powerfully, as we have seen today.

I hope we win next week, of course, but watching this today I fear the threat has changed dramatically.
