Nice pick up Luvdids, I tend to go "last years model" when shopping like that as well. You can save some serious coin.

We just had Booktown week-end.
Sales at the book-shop were good, sold some mantiques, met KenH from Ballarat, played scrabble and host to nice young man and his girlfriend.
(Mind you, if I'd known how much the young man likes doing the dishes I would have had a month old stack ready for him to polish off).

He's welcome back anytime, particularly if I have dishes to do!

(Probably should be in the "what made me laugh" thread but his total inability to open an old fashioned bottle with an old fashioned tin opener was very amusing.

On the way to rack & ruin now. Bought an iPhone. 5S or something. New job will have one so I thought I'd better get myself one - no longer the martyr with my el cheapo Nokia.

I'd elected to work 2 days with the police in my new job (with 3 days in my current related job), then thought my weekends such as they are would be even more restrictive but found out today that two people working 1 day on our team wouldn't mind regular weekend work. That frees things up considerably so hopefully will mean I'll still be able to have weekends off at least 2 per 4 weeks & one part weekend in the same four weeks.

For me that is a great result. More time with Mrs WPT & Collingwood in season. Or is that more time with Collingwood & Mrs WPT in season Wink

I can see that happening. And watch that KenH bloke, I reckon he's a shifty little bugger. Razz

He seemed like a nice enough bloke but to be on the safe side I had the missus go through his pockets while I distracted him.
She said she found some interesting items but nothing you'd hang a man for...fair enough, he's all right with me.

A type of old fashioned tin/bottle opener that should (apparently) come with an instruction booklet...

I should have warned her about the pocket with the big hole, she certainly took her time in there!

She certainly had a twinkle in her eye that night! Razz

They asked me to turn-on(?) the wood stove in the spare bedroom.
I was back in flash with an iron bucket of red hot coals, a poker and some wood.
the look on his face was priceless. Twisted Evil Laughing

Oh man real fire place in the bedroom! Much as I love mega TVS and iPhones, I'll take that fire! Wood stove type or good old fashion fire place?

Ps I hate those can openers too, but I'm left handed!

Got to netball and 3 of my nine players didn't show! Lucky the other team were one short too, but this is A grade, and the other team are all islanders (big buggers) solid, rough, and fast, plus older and wiser.

Well **** me dead we kicked their butt! I played it smart, I knew they'd get tired faster, so I rotated the team so no one was stuffed in the last 1/4, think we won by 13-14!

Happy days!

Not older and and wiser enough.Wink

~

It's an old IXL stove in what was once the outside kitchen before it was connected to the rest of the house.
It's light and airy but that back room gets cold.

I woke up a few daes ago and found 30 or sheeps eating what was left of the old veggie patch (i'd left an old gate open).

If your ever visiting your sisters and feel the need for some serious fresh air, come and visit.
