Haven't been on Nick's for a while.........
Geez, didn't Kevin Nolan score some crucial goals in some 1-0's in the CCC season aye !!??
Big Andy Carroll has started to realise he is a player - let's hope he doesn't get too far ahead of himself with the # 9 on his back. What an honour for a born & bred geordie lad !!!!! (no more punching team-mates over text messages from dirty slappers please !!!)
Good signings IMO - Campbell & Gosling, not sure about Perch.
Glad we didn't waste our money on Beckford in January - good luck Everton.
I'm hearing Steven Ireland is on the market. Would be a perfect fit for us - we're probably 1 creative midfielder & perhaps 1 pacey striker short of having a "top 10 / challenging for Europa league spot" squad. Current squad probably a 10-16 spot likely. (although an injury to either of Jonas or Enrique would be disastarous) _________________ "I am a great sage, equal of heaven.

It's on, tomorrow morning, Old Trafford, against the Red and Black Scum (sounds familiar) of Manchested United.
I've been waiting about 18 months for this, ever since we were relegated.

S T ruggled a bit vs Man poo, but there were still some half decent signs.
I reckon Carroll will go alright leading the line, but I feel he needs a second striker with some pace supporting him rather than Nolan who is far more suited to making late runs from midfield.
Williamson looked a touch off the pace at the back, but we now have a little bit of depth in that position with S.Taylor & Campbell to come back in. _________________ "I am a great sage, equal of heaven.

I backed us at 3.50 (silly Australian markets), and we are now 3-0 up at half time.
Going to be a nervous second half, I'd like to see one more just to seal it. |

Wow, a 6-0 win, and Andy Carroll gets a hat trick, with the great Alan Shearer watching from his private box.
Just awesome. |

Enjoyed every moment of the game, I still cannot believe John Carew managed to screw up that penalty, I guess there was someone in the crowd that wanted a ball.
That second goal was some class, a good team effort and then just went on and just loved every moment of the game. Glad to see Carroll put 3 away, one of my favourite players at the club right now and it was good to see Shearer there in the crowd watching the new magic Number 9 scoring. _________________ Ðavâgé

6 of the best!!!!!! (well...... 2 crackers & 4 goal mouth scrambles).
Loved the 2nd where Enrique crossed to the back post from deep & Carroll headed across goal to Nolan - brilliant!!
Carew.... hahahahahahahahahahaha & the *cough cough* offside in the first half - knew it was our night after those 2 incidents. _________________ "I am a great sage, equal of heaven.

i heard that the offside was actually not an offside call but a handball call. |

Ok, that would explain it then..... good call ref!!!! lol
I watched the highlights last night, and upon reflection - very harsh on the 6th goal.... was a quality ball from Xisco, & efficiently put away by Big Andy. (3 of the best, & 3 goal mouth scrambles) lol
What a sight - a born & bred Geordie lad wearing the #9, scoring a hat-trick at St James' Park, in front of the great man Alan Shearer!!!! _________________ "I am a great sage, equal of heaven.

Newcastle won 3-2 in their first Carling Cup match of the year this morning.
It puts them through to the 3rd round.
They basically played a second 11 against league 2 side Accrington but won thanks to some great play from Lua Lua (younger bro) and our second keeper, dutchman Tim Krul who was awesome.
It's another win though, things are going swimmingly now. |
