I guess this is always going to happen with a team that is tasting success. We really can't expect to keep the whole team together through this period, especially considering how young our guns still are. Just thankful so far we haven't lost any of our A Graders.

Think the team needs to become as Geelong (excepting Ablett). All players should be focused on Premierships, it is why you play Football FFS.

The dangling money carrot has destroyed that concept in the game.

Would be very surprised if he left. He should know that this team allows him to play his best football. He has so much quality support around him is it worthwhile throwing all that away for "a few dollars more"?

I would've thought Tooves would be the least likely guy to be making demands like the one's his manager is making.

I'll believe he's going for money when it's out of his mouth, not his parasitic manager.

But if it were me and my manager behaved like that he wouldn't be my manager any more.

Unless of course I instructed him or was at least OK with the strategy.

Seems to me that Toovey has made a decision. That's his choice and that's fair enough. We don't have to like it though.

^ When you throw Goldsack into the equation though, does losing Toovey really seem like a major deal.

As I said above, Toovey can play great but then can spud it up massively. Inconsistency is my major issue with him.

With Goldsack and Clarke we are more than well positioned to cover the loss of Toovey if it happens. Not worried at all regarding the impact to our side. Dawes re-signing is far more crucial, glad to hear that happened today.

He's entitled to get the best deal for himself and his manager is paid to do just that. Pert knows that. At the end of the day, he either comes to a deal at Collingwood or he pursues a deal somewhere else. It's his livelihood after all.

Disgraceful tactics from the manager - this has the potential to turn the supporters against a much loved player. Also, as stated by others, I can't imagine a manager going ahead with this sort of thing without the player's approval.

So, out of the GF side - A.Toovey, In - T.Goldsack....... & by Rd 15 next year when he doesn't have superstars all around him to make him look good, Toovey will be playing 2's wherever he ends up.
