We need to get more pressure around the ball and run harder off the ball, that's easy to say hard to do. We need more run from our loose man in defence because Glass is doing a good job for WCE. A couple of good running goals from the midfielders would be good tonic but I reckon if we can get a bit more run in the middle the forwards can stay closer to home and the forward line will open up a bit.
We need a bit of a rocket, we're not defending on or off the ball.

Who cares about the free kicks? That is an excuse.
The only one's to blame for this is ourselves.
I thought we were pretty lazy defensively last week.
This week is a new low. Mids are being murdered by a group of hacks because they have no interest in manning up when they don't have the ball. |

this is a the same shit game plan that we had against adelaide where there is no pressure around the ball and the mids try to drop back in defence to counter with handball and run.
It's bloody stupid!!! We smashed essendon with pressure around the contest. Swarm the ball, harass the ball carrier and hit up targets going forward.
Commentators are saying the mids are being lazy and getting smashed but they have been instructed to drop off their man and "help out" the defence. The defence is fine with a spare. Just trust your players to win the ball in the middle or force a turnover if they dont. The worst that could happen is Toovey, Maxy, Langdon Fas Williams have to beat their direct opponent!! Which they fkn can! So let em play bucks!!! |

This is the post of the year. Exactly what's going on out there. The dumb thing is that with the mids running back to defend they are leaving their opponents to hit up targets without any pressure. I had to turn the game off before I had a coronary. I expect to see my team competing not watching the opposition play keepings off. I saw enough of that last year.
Go back to the man on man game Bucks that we played earlier in the year. We will do the job one on one. Back them in. |

Wouldn't worry about the forward line. It's up the field where we're getting beat. 20-9 inside 50s? Not much the forwards can do about that.
We'd made progress on this, but the last two games we've been as bad as last year. Not winning the ball and then not able to move it from defense. Just a lack of any real system to move the ball forward. It's not Cloke's or White's fault that the ball has barely got to them.

I've previously championed Cloke but not now.
He's playing like a useless lump of disinterest at the moment and Jesse White is almost as bad.
When a good ordinary player like Priddis tears you apart you know something is rotten.
Along with Cloke and White I'm pointing a big finger at messers Swan, Pendlebury, Ball and Beams. They've been unaccountable and lazy.
Ball has been a good servent but I watched a kid today in Taylor Adams who has everything he has and more. Reputations count for naught when you want to win a game of football so Adams has to come in and play in the guts instead of fukking about playing him on a back flank or wing. |
