Let's hope the kid can make a good come back. An ACL is not career ending these days.

Ok let's end the myth right here;

Quote:
@CollingwoodFC: For the record: Our senior rehab coordinator/physio, senior VFL doctor + full training/medical team were present at last night’s VFL game.

JW - Did he go to the bench and was he having "discussions" with any boundary line medicos??
(I suppose you were probably watching the game rather than the bench though??)

i find it ridiculous the club even has to respond to rumours and innuendo. good on them for doing so.

Someone lights a match and then runs away, leaving others to put out the fire.

Poor kid can't take a trick, shattering news.

Let's hope he makes a full and speedy recovery.

I wasn't there, don't know what happened, and my default position is usually to trust the judgement of qualified people in their field.

BUT - if it is actually the case that he hobbled off and was sent back on, the mind boggles.
Take into account his recent medical history (missed 7/8 of a season with a foot injury), the state of the season, the stage of the season, his importance to what the coach is planning over the next few seasons - it becomes a no-brainer to leave him off the ground in the final game of the season in the 2's even if there's only a 5% chance of doing more damage.

I wonder if it was the same doc that sent Luke Ball back on that resulted in him missing 12 months??

(Again, not sure what happened, but IF it happened like that I'm dumbfounded.)

I heard he rolled his ankle the first time he limped off, I have no problem them sending him back out after a re-strap.

^My view remains the same, (specific to Sharenberg's situation) even if it was a rolled ankle.

So he's feet will still be getting used to the strain of a match after only a couple of weeks back, he then rolls his ankle - where's the next flexible joint in the link to subconsciously take the body's load??

Can't keep him in cotton wool mate, he's a footballer and he needed as much game time as possible, just rotten luck.

Least his feet issues should be well and truly over now with the extended layoff.

Well as heartless as it sounds I doubt now he's ever going to be the panacea to the problems besetting the club. He's injury prone. Two long term injuries before he's even played at the elite level is evidence of a fragile body sadly.

This pick will haunt the club especially when we see Aish tearing it up at Brisbane for the next decade. I hope I'm wrong but I don't think I will be (and I don't want to be a "perceptive fellow" but there's nothing to be positive about). Crying or Very sad

Fingers crossed on Freeman for next year.
