Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley remains confident Scott Pendlebury will play against St Kilda at the MCG on Friday night.

The 27-year-old had scans on his left ankle on Monday and left the track early as the Magpies trained on Wednesday.

"He moved pretty well, so he's in the mix. He stays in the mix because of what he did today so it was quite encouraging," Buckley said.

"He needs to know in his own mind that he is right to go. He knows his body really well. He is professional in the way he goes about it, if he puts his hand up and ticks a few boxes from our side of things, then he'll play."

haha, have to laugh at the media, seen about 5 reports saying Pendles will miss, and about 5 saying he will play.

Then Bucks comes out and says he will play if he gets through training tomorrow.

Media hysteria at it's worst.

Doesn't sound as good for Adams though, and Witts needs one more VFL run apparently.

Leaves us with Dwyer, Freeman, De Goey, Gault and Karnezis as possible ins.

Kennedy apparently has glandular fever otherwise I'd like him in that team. Varcoe got a minor leg injury Saturday so interesting to see how he pulls up. Adams still a chance.

We were never going to play the finals this year so why the despondency? Just play the youth because they are the future of our club. De Goey, Freeman, Goodyear, Moore, Maynard just to name a few.
