Bux said in the presser, that no-one would believe him. Before explaining. He was right about that.

Must be the water in Bendigo but I'm highly sceptical about that explanation from Buck's. Shocked Exclamation Cool

If we were making up excuses, you 'd come up with something better than that. Surely.

So I believe them. It is funny when considering Howe from last year.

From the AFL web site:

If we don't laugh, we'll cry about it," Buckley said.

"He was playing with his dog and he went to throw a toy – it wasn't a Frisbee – and he caught his hand on the edge of a doorhandle."

Levi Greenwood is also on the sidelines with a troublesome hip requiring surgery.

Greenwood has been trying to overcome the injury for the past three weeks, but the Magpies decided on Friday that surgery was the best course of action.

The injured duo adds to a list of unavailable players that also contains Jamie Elliott and Daniel Wells.

Turned 21 on 15th of March.

Dare say there might be a connection.

I'd be inclined to agree, were it not for the injury rumours and shenanigans in the weeks leading up to the 15th....did he ever end up having a sore toe? Bucks seemed to deny knowledge.....might all be unrelated, but who knows?

As Sinclair is our only player set for a lengthy injury spell, I'd say we're in pretty good shape. I'm a bit concerned about Langdon's prospects, but at least we have other defensive options. Once De Goey, Wills and Wells are available we will have an abundance of quality midfield options. So far, so good.

Langdon's time off is starting to take on Daisy Thomas/Ben Reid proportions...

You do realise we have 7 players out and haven't got to round 1 yet? If that is a shape, it isn't a good one.

Lose another 1 or 2 players after Rd 1 and all of a sudden there is no competition for spots . No flexibility at selection. And we continue to play catch up with team continuity.

Players that are injured lose condition, form and touch. It can take 4 weeks of senior footy before they start performing at their optimum. So we lose them for the injury period plus a week or so in the vfl and another few weeks at seniors before they are playing well. So a 4 week injury can be really 8-9 weeks before they start to play well again and gel with the team.

This injury list is poor. Not good. DeGoey, Wells, Greenwood, Elliott, and Sinclair are all best 22 when fit and in form. That is a fair whack out of the side at this time of the year. Come June we'll have 6 of our best 22 left at this rate.

And we haven't received our mandatory 3 ACLs yet. They're still to come.

Good shape! Wow!
