O.k just ignore the fact that he got robbed and he wasn't even out that's fine! Firstly I think he got bat to ball and secondly it was too high it was a terrible decision by the umpire!

Also i think Bichel was the man who won the game at the end as he was scoring at a run a ball. Bevan put them in a position to win the game and Bichel delivered the killer blow.

How people can compare Tendulkar and Bevan together amazes me. Sure average wise they may be the same but Tendulkar is in a league and class of his own. Tenulkar destroys attacks and is the most entertaining batsman going around. Can play quality pace bowling and makes it look easy. Tendulkar plays every shot in the book.

I would also rate Gilchrist and Lara ahead of Bevan.

However i will concede that when it comes to rescuing a team then Bevan is probably the best. This is because he knows the target and can bat like a snail.

However when batting first and runds need to be put on the board i would rate quite a few players ahead of Bevan.

Make your own luck doesn't always apply in cricket. As a batsman you only get one chance and if you nick it onto your pad and get given out then you can make us much luck you like, but it's in the dressing room.

Not sure if its been posted but Michael Bevan is the most boring cricketer ever!! He faced over 120 balls for his 76 but it was left to Bichel to slog 30 odd off as 34 balls. Bevan plays for red ink, always has. Its good that it went down to the last 2 balls but Bevan could have made sure we got the runs earlier.

5 Cougars thanks

I think it was the other way around....if bichel had gone out Bevan would have been left High and dry....ploggin along at a strike rate of 40....could have easily looked foolish....but the Aussies won so I guess it was well timed...

Back to the topic....Martyn duck against a half decent side.....me thinks he is struggling....why not give Harvey a go??? he is a much better bowler the symonds and can clearly make more then 1 run....

Martyn has to go

Spot on CAAS in relation the red ink comment. If one didnt know better you could have mistaken Bevan for the tailender and Bichel for the batsman.

What world class batsman scores 3 runs from their first 30 balls ??

I can't believe some of the stuff I am reading here! Bevan most certainly won that game for Australia last night with the help of Bichel but I can tell you now if Bevan hadn't of stayed in we would have lost it easy! JLC does it make you feel better when you constantly put down players like Martyn? Come on guys it's really getting a bit old now!
