Big Andy would have to be close to the form (English) striker in England wouldn't he?? 4 goals in 3 games so far, & 19 goals last season with 15 of those coming after xmas.
Has Capello announced his squad yet for the 2 Euro qualifiers coming up??
Rooney is an automatic selection, but Carroll must be ahead of the likes of Heskey & Crouch - has youth on his side if competing for a long term spot with Zamora - with Defoe, Bent, Agbonlahor & Walcott probably in front of him if Capello doesn't want a big target man. I think Capello likes playing a big-little combo up front though, which puts our man right in the mix surely....

Well that went well, a 2-0 loss, god dammit, looks like another long season, where staying up will just be the target.

We dominated from start to finish and had it not been for the Blackpool goalkeeper (who was outstanding) we'd have atleast a point if not all three. However we should really be beating teams like Blackpool, and especially at home. Our next game is away to Everton.

the second goal was just a counter because we went for broke and pushed everyone forward.

Their keeper had the game of his life, we could have had 3 or 4 goals I reckon.

Shattered with that. Very unlucky..... dominated game, should have won (let alone drawn).
Absolutely correct - the keeper will never play that well again.
(did I hear correctly in the commentary that he has been selected to play for Scotland - despite being English with only a Scottish grandmother????)

Hard to question the Manager with what he has done.......
but....... for mine - he took too long to bring on a second striker. I'd much rather see Nolan dropping behind 2 up front rather than just 1 - especially at home against some of the lesser fancied teams such as Blackpool.

What a wonder strike from Ben Arfa !!!!!
Repaid the loan money already !!!!

We have a tremendous recent record against Everton - even in our relegation season we got a point at Goodison Park.

A great 1-0 win at Goodison Park against Everton. Ben Arfa is a class player.

Glad to see Afra was able to score for the Magpies, it was a beauty of a strike.

It looked like Carroll was hampered a bit though with his injury, hopefully he will be ready for our next game....you know, passed the Carling Cup murder to Chelsea midweek.

Newcastle score just before half time at Arsenal, 1-0 up at half time thanks to Carroll.
