Lets not get too carried away by speculations or assumptions that if MM was there everything would have been much better.

Peter Jess Andrew K's manager couldn't be more supportive & praiseworthy about how Colingwood has gone about assisting Andrew K. in his time of need.

The rest is idle speculation & the devil makes play with idle speculation - just look how the HS has been going about it let alone Nicks Laughing

This is the AFL's problem. They created it and have the cash to fix it. Lets stop the symbolic crap Dimmi and put up! I mean $500 K to Meathead at the GF and they can't pay for our players family to help out.

So it AFL's fault Krak has spent time in prison, was lucky to even get a base wage from us, turned up completely unfit from the Christmas break and couldn't sort out his "issues" in the off season while the rest of our players could?

Intredasting.....

Yes, Chris Tarrant

When was this? I can't actually remember him having leave.

Much like Krak, it was his second year at Collingwood.
He was given leave at the start of the season, he went home to Mildura for a month.

But of course he is not Indigenous, so I'm not sure it counts

McVeigh from the swans lost a baby last year and how many games did he miss 1 or 2?

Anyhow that wasn't even the original question and I don't have a problem with Krakouer having time off if it's because of legitimate and profound reasons.

I do however have a problem if it's merely because of a lack of motivation for the grind of preseason training or being away from ones extended family.

I'd assume the Swans would have given McVeigh longer if he wanted it, I would also assume Collingwood has assessed this issue and deemed it needed that he take this long.

But I guess we won't know, just have to support that he has a personal issue, and hope it gets better for him.

I remember the thing with Taz, in fact I reckon someone who has time to waste could find a thread on here about it that was at the time.

Yeah. Eventually Eddie drove up to Mildura and sat down with Taz over a bbq, and he came back a few days later.

Wasn't Taz considering becoming a surfer or something? IIRC during a broadcast when they got him back at the club there was a bit where someone said he was considering getting into surfing.

PS. My sarcasm meter exploded, damned aboriginals ruined that too.

This would apply to any player.

However I do feel Aboriginal players seem to be over represented in such cases (especially when it comes to motivation and presenting in an unfit state) and can't help but feel most people go easier on them for the fear of being labelled racist if they dare question there commitment to doing what's required to be an elite AFL player.

Remember Krakouer like all AFL footballers are afforded much more support and access to professional help than your average Joe in the street.

Jonathan Hay says hi, too.
