It's time to tank, finish bottom and reload for 2013. This season is a write-off.

Been saying that since we started tanking in the NAB Cup against Melbourne (remember that anyone?) and Adelaide (by 77 points).

Find out what kids can actually play. Trim our list at season's end and get high draft picks. Absolutely NO POINT in simply making up the numbers in the eight.

We won't win ANZAC Day either, resting players or not.

I'm just shuddering at the thought of how much higher Paddy Ryder will be jumping than Darren "cement boots" Jolly on ANZAC Day.

Poor side on paper.

And what's with all these fricken soft tissue injuries?

Isn't Buttifant supposedly the best fitness/conditioner in the league or has the supposedly tough pre-season cooked our players already?

I'm not confident one little bit.

Conspiracy theory #324.

Mick Malthouse says Buttifant is one of his best friends. You don't think he might be involved in a little sabotage do you? Wink

The injuries to Thomas and Shaw no doubt allowed Sinclair another stay of execution.

I would have pulled the trigger personally.

I must be one of the few who's prepared to take an open mind on S.Buckley.

Needs to improve his decision making but is a long kick, quick and a good size at 190cm 90kg.

If it wasn't for an off field incident in 2010 could well have been a premiership player.

Good to see Johnson return and Seedsman has the silk to make it IMO just needs time and this season might be one to early for him.

Rapt with the inclusion of Young.

He's a rough diamond but he'll put his head over the ball and have a crack.

Like Buckley is also a handy size at 191cm, 90kg.

Last week showed why I'll never again call for the ruck duo of Jolly/Wood unless necessary due to injuries.

Got slaughtered in the ruck despite playing both.

Disappointing.

Dawes survives because of this as at present is our only viable relief ruck option.

With the return of Paine we now have another tall marking forward option albeit one still to young.

Hopefully the critics of Dawes can now take a bex and allow him some time to get accustomed to a new role and hopefully return to better form as the season progresses.

He needs to.

It would have been tempting to rush Brown and Didak back in but with such a short break before the Anzac day clash I think it's wise to give both another hit out at a lower level with less intensity.

Get through that and both are in line for an Anzac day recall.

Looking for Ugle to put in a blinder in the VFL to also be in line for an Anzac day debut.

Cloke will be decapitated running through the banner and because it's after the teams submit the final sheet, we'll be down a player before the bounce.

Jolls will slip on the centre circle, knee done, career over!!

We'll end the night with Sinclair as first ruck.

You know he really couldn't do any worse than Dawes in the ruck now, could he? Razz

Sinclair as first ruck?

Actually that might work if we can get Dawes to hoist him into the air ala a rugby line out.

Question is is it legal in the AFL?

Team doesn't look too bad on paper. Better than I expected.

I think we have to play hard for Warnock at the end of this year. He isn't a certainty to star at Carlton, seeing their two rucks are dominating and are young.

Go after him I say!

Woods done at Collingwood, I believe. With 2 or 3 LTI, why are we not considering elevating!?

I know we have young blokes to ruck, but hell we need somebody with some experience too. I believe Jolly is almost cooked.

Carlton offered Warnock a reported $400,000 a season to leave Freo & join them. We could not offer anywhere near that. Not unless Jolly retired.

Personally, I think Jolly is done. He will either a) play out this season and be done or 2) get pushed out during the back end of the season.

Two will only come off if Wood improves 1000%.

Saw the teams and finished my bottle of Jack. Jack Daniels not Spain!

I've never seen injuries like it. Neither were listed. I thought Bux was going to be honest about injuries.

Season is on a knife edge at the moment. I'm not confident this week at all. Port have been going ok and we are struggling and injuries are exposing the weak underbelly.

Just win Pies, margin doesn't matter. We need to limp to 5-2 and hope we can get some form and lessen the injury list.

Really need to see the manic attack on the ball

My initial thought when I saw the team was "Well that's the end of Cam Wood", but I think we are planning to rest Jolly on ANZAC day.

If the game against Carlton proved one thing (apart from fans do leave early Wink ) it proved that Wood and Jolly can never play in the same team, they are both number one rucks who can not play support roles.

That says we have no confidence in Jolls. If they omitted Jolly to get him ready for Essendon, that would be different.

I think Wood has played his last game for Collingwood.

While we're on the topic of making outlandish statements I thought I'll chime in - Wood's future at Collingwood is a lot brighter than Jolly's.

Now with that out of the way the only thing I'm not comfortable is having Sinclair in the side instead of Rounds, I've been supporting Sinkers for awhile now but surely getting demoralised like this isn't beneficial for his career prospects, mind you we're scrapping the bottom of a barrel right now as Rounds didn't have a great game on Saturday either.

This is quickly becoming one of the biggest games of the year (who would have thought that pre-season!!!). I think we will lose to Essendon and we will beat the Bulldogs (even with the team that plays on Saturday). If this occurs and we win Saturday we are 3-3 with players returning from injury and still in touch to make a run.

If we lose we could be 2-4 and that will be trouble stations.

Well Port Adelaide would have to be favourites now wouldn't they?

They've improved as shown by there competitive outing against Sydney last week while we have a playing list suffering from the plague, decapitation, spontaneous combustion and cannibalism.

This sounds all wrong but it'd be nice if some of the young guns got themselves injured. As much as everyone is saying 'injury crisis' take a look at the injury list and really it's not that bad - which is plain terrifying. If we're this paper thin with only four keys players (plus Didak and Brown on the way back) then I hate to see what we're like if Cloke does his shoulder or something silly like that.

As I said earlier... as long as we come out breathing fire... that'll do me. A win would be nice too. Who knows?

And to think, we could have got Setanta for a song! He would be handy back up depth at the moment Laughing
