Kicking goals is my worry this week, just can't see how we do it.

Even before Moore and Fasolo went down, we were struggling to find an effective form of scoring.

Now with them two out, we will probably bring in Cloke and Goldsack to replace them, two players whose recent forward form at senior level has been poor to say the least.

But we have to play Cloke, that's a given, forget what Bucks said last night, it's a forgone conclusion that he plays or we can't win.

Cloke plays, we might win.

Cloke doesn't play, we can't win.

I would definitely include Sinclair for his pace, drive off half back and also the possiblity of him going forward as a small forward to give a spark there. The loss of Adams requires a midfielder to replace him, and Goodyear should be rewarded for excellent form. To me, it would be ridiculous not to play Cloke, and he is a definite inclusion for me. Last inclusion is either Marsh or Aish for mine. Not sure which: if we select Marsh this might free up more the possibliity of Howe going forward; if we play Aish gives us more pace and transition speed.

If Sinclair is fit, he will probably come in, but I'd rather Marsh.

In: Cloke, Brown, Sinclair, Williams, Aish
Out: Cox, Moore, Toovey, Fasolo, Adams

Brown to play down back.. Swing Reid forward with Cloke and play Sinclair in Fasolo's role.. Williams to replace Toovey across half back and Aish for Adams

Goldsack could also fill a spot down back or upforward! Not all doom and gloom folks! We do have some options

I was thinking the same thing though Reid seems to be less injury prone this year and I wonder if it is to do with the more straight-ahead nature of defensive work. He also seems to organise the defence.

The last thing we need is Reid going down with injury now. So I'd go with Cloke and Cox at CHF/FF, leave Reid as the backline general, and let Browny work his way back in. I'd not let Cox go out yet - his game v the Dogs was a disappointment, but we need to keep investing in his project.

I mentioned before, and I'm sure it will be raised at selection table - swing Reid forward (note - my personal belief is he should play defence).

Marsh in for Toovey gives Marsh and Howe to potentially play tall (or if Brown is under consideration, he could get a run).

Goodyear for Adams seems the no-brainer here and we know he is in the selection frame having debuted earlier and given strong VFL form since.

For mine -
Out - Toovey, Fas, Moore, Adams
In - Marsh, Goodyear, Aish, Brown/Goldy

With your suggestion of Reid being swung forward I think the coaching committee have to weigh up whether the backline suffers more from the loss of Howe or Reid.... and I guess conversely which one of those is likely to offer more up forward. Given we've struggled up forward even with Fas and Moore there I'm kind of inclined to say leave the backline as solid as possible and let's get imaginative with the forward line.

Toovey obviously has to be replaced in the backline so that's already going to unsettle (no matter how badly you think he was going) the back six. Sounds like Goodyear might be an option for that post. Or Marsh. I love Marsh's leadership so could be a good option. Not sure about disposal. If Goody is that much better than Marsh then let's throw him into the mix - get yet another player some experience.

Could Caff play his "old" 2010 role of smallish forward rather than throwing him as a tagger? I'm sure he'd relish being let off the leash - even if it's just for a game. Plus provides us with another shutdown option if Levi can't get the job done (not likely but good to have backups).

Tom Phillips was on the cusp of a debut a couple of weeks back. What role does he play?

It might, rather, say that Cloke had marked our cards. He will have plenty of bidders if he chooses to leave.
