Whoever said women have good listening skills is a moron. I had to explain the same thing 15 times cos as soon as I finished explaining it, someone would ask the question I just answered. FMD. ARRRGGGHHHH.
So now tomorrow I'm going to need to write to all of them to reiterate what I said and I'm going to have at least 12 of the 20 who each heard something different to what I said. |
Yeah I get that!
Even worse ( for me at least) is the ridiculous number of layers of fcknuckles who THINK they are important and rabbit on about process and governance etc etc etc when they haven't got an fkn clue about the process or what you are trying to explain to them even when using pigeon English for the intellectually challenged!!!! And they have no concept of priority whilst they waffle on _________________ “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” |

We have a department full of them. Quality is not a pseudo science, it's not some miraculous cure, it's a set of principles borrowed from the Japanese Auto industry that any eedjit can learn and apply.
I'm not a fan and the response I get when one starts to lecture me and i respond with "yeah, I did that stuff in the 90's, I know how it works" is priceless.
I apply the principles when I'm trying to improve processes because they're sound, I just CBF'd following their overly prescriptive and bureaucratic templates or processes. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Oh god, that's gonna need a Vims, a full risk assessment, an A3 of the problem and proposed course of action, several meetings and finally, sometime around late 2017, an engineer will come up and fix it. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

We have a similar approach except as far as I can figure out, most people seem to like me
I've been trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong, can you be my mentor? _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Well yes but only because I think you have potential!
Belligerence is the key
And a genuine disinterest nay aversion to any social contact or interaction outside work hours or inside work hours apart from what is required to maintain a professional working relationship.
And consistency - I've mastered that!!!
Ah the freedom of being spared inane bat shite boring details _________________ “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” |

Belligerence. That's what I'm doing wrong. I rely on self deprecating humour, a smile and brute competency and only resort to belligerance as a shock tactic.
Cheers, I'll have to work on that. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Ah yes, the me me me's.
I avoid direct contact with them but when I do have to, I find that while blunt force aka belligerence achieves results, irony, sarcasm and using pointed facts to deflate their overinflated egos more personally satisfying.
They're totally defenseless against a well aimed put down. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

^ Agree but I can't avoid them and most times I need instantaneous reaction and response cause there are patients on the end of it - they I do care about! _________________ “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” |

My brother in law was diagnosed with kidney cancer yesterday. Not sure what level. He is seeing the specialist today, doc says he's gunna have a fight on his hands. That can't be good. I really like my BIL, he's a really good, honest bloke. (*&^%^& sucks _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |
