Does it spook you riding at night?

Night shifts your there 10 hours, gees, long shifts, you'll be voting to keep penalty rates!

Cheers TP.

I'm getting too old for night shift but I have to do about 2 every 28 days.The shift goes pretty quickly though & you don't get pestered as much by incessant phones or pagers going off as you do during the day. There's generally a decent camaraderie at nights too.

You do your job where I am as a sole clinician & this is more the case at night shift which I like especially the relative autonomy over decision making & having to think on your feet. That's the charm of the job

We only get 50% extra for weekends & there is a night shift loading generally speaking. My pay would be sort of ordinary (depends where you look) without the shift work.

Another underrated job that doesn't get the recognition or compensation it deserves. Surely helping people is more important than philosophy?

Motion seconded and passed. What an abomination that was.

Bit of harmless fun, if you didn't like it you could by pass it. Plenty more offensive threads than that one. And now you've given dave reason to feel self conscious!

That's what I did, just pretended it didn't exist. A 'hide thread' function would be nice, but I don't think that existed in the 90s when this board software was written Laughing

What!?? Dave's thread has been locked?? Killjoy.
That's for the "What made me sad" thread......

Taking the kids to watch the NYE fireworks from the beach.
The 5 year old went out of his mind every time a new sequence went off! Very Happy
The simple things still bring joy to them at that age, it's a beautiful thing!

Caught up with a mate yesterday in Tocumwal that I went to high school with. He lives up the NSW central coast now and was back down to visit his mum for Xmas and bring her grandkids down, She hadn't seen them in about 5 years.

Great having a beer and catching up, hearing some gos on what a few other people he knows are up to. Our high school year basically scattered after year 12, only a handful stayed in the district, so he has the same experience i do when you go "home", apart from family there's no one there you know.

Still, great to see a bloke holding a seriously responsible role in the NSW Education department without the benefit of a uni degree and to share the common experience of why so many people have issues with basic problem solving and applying logic.

My motto for 2016 is going to be "It's not that fkn hard" because it rarely ever is if you stop to actually look at the problem instead of being blinded by issues.

I had a good day with Laura for her birthday, took her out for it and then came back her and had a movie and all. Going to her place today to watch Mother and son with her, she loves the show and it should be good.

Went for a Chinese oil massage yesterday, my backs been killing me, this little tiny 45kg woman had the strength of a mammoth, she should work for the CIA, no secret would ever get past this woman.

Feel better today

Been working a lot lately & as I don't have a car currently have been riding & swimming. Unfortunately I copped really strong head winds the other day & for 2 days in a row. My knees are feeling it. This morning swam again & from about lap 8 to lap 16 was able to swim quite fast with good rhythm & not feel it. As soon as I thought about it I slowed down goddamn it.

Sweating +++
Breathing+++
No chest pain (so far)

Feeling good.

Haven't had time yet to reply to the gender thread yet, will soon though Razz

I have to ask for the woman to massage me at the local Chinese medicine practitioner as he hurts too much. I like a firm & string massage & both the good Dr & his wife are both excellent masseurs. But he is too much for me & I reckon I have a reasonable pain threshold.
