I was wrong.

I ummed and ahhaed in public and carefully hedged my bets on the forum, but in my heart of hearts, I thought this player would wind up as mere depth, out of our best 22 and battling with Marty Clarke to squeeze into our best 35. His name? Alex Fasolo.

What was your worst call this season?

The new "use of the body in the marking contests" lead me to believe Cloke was going to get a better run from the umps.

I was sadly mistaken... again.

I didn't think we'd be this good yet.

It's a very pleasant surprise.

And it almost scares me to think how good we could get because there is a shitload of upside at the moment

Good to see 1 had the guts to admit his error, but (Though I myself regularly make mistakes and plenty of them, how else could I get this smart?!) who could think Fas was a development player? He showed his class from Game 1, it was obvious we had another Daisy on our hands, (Don't make me talk about that, I'll start tearing up again!) and a guy who had the "X factor" that could win games, although I have to admit I never saw him as a 30+ pozzie mid, what a win!!!

My worst call this season was believing maxy would struggle to get a game and saying so openly among friends and even on here on one occasion.

Though I never crossed the line into disrespect I thought he would struggle to even be depth.

He has made me look a fool (not hard) And I'm quietly happy about that.

I liked Fas as a forward although at times thought he tried to do too much.
New Elliot was coming on and wondered about Fas.
Then, watched him spend more and more time in the midfield.
For me, his performance in the syd prelim 2012 was a stand out. I was at the game and he was one of few that stood up. I had high hopes for him last year however what we saw when he played was average and then the injury cut him down.
I must admit, I was doubtful he could reclaim his best and thought some of the new younger mids would go past him. I was hopeful in his half back position and excited at the prospect of him playing well there knowing how good his ball use could be. Still, like you Tannin I juts didn't think he would nail that spot or be capable of what he displayed today.

He is now a weapon and hopefully he continues to evolve and realise his full potential as we have few players like him.

Witts. Didn't get it before, now I do.

As for Maxwell, I think he's proven just about everyone wrong.

I was very bullish about Fas in the back line so I'm very happy he has done as well as expected, but I was certainly wrong about Maxwell. Hope he keeps proving me wrong!

I thought our new game plan under Bucks made us too easy to be scored against. As a result I thought we were going backwards.

The last month has showed that I was WRONG! And bloody happy to admit it.

I honestly thought that Nick Maxwell would slowly work his way out of our best side...

I was wrong...

To date, he's easily the first backman picked each week and he's having his best season since 2010.
