For mine Keeffe has to take Hale. Aside from the fact that it is the perfect matchup considering Keeffe's height, Roughead will own him I fear.

Toovey can probably take Gunston.

Which leaves Roughead.

Marley? Blair? Armstrong?

Or...

Do we send Travis down back to take Roughead?

I think that's what I'd do.

Who the hell else?

It's a huge loss to the forward line but at least we can move some things around down there and come up with some kind of structure.

In terms of defender stocks, the cupboard is bare.

I'm keen on the idea of debuting Marsh but not as a lockdown defender. Send Cloke back and give Marsh his spot in the forward line.

I know it's been proposed before but that was as a punishment for being woefully out of form as a forward.

This is his chance to board his mighty steed, charge down to the backline and save the day.

We know he has the physical attributes and he's seen enough elite defenders from not far away to know what you're supposed to do. He'll likely have a good idea which part of the jumper to grab a fistful of and how to get away with it.

Could do wonders for his confidence going forward (SWIDT?)

It's worth a try for the first quarter anyway I reckon.

Thoughts?

Um, isn't Frost playing?

Frost to Roughead, Keeffe to Hale and Toovey to Gunston.

And I wouldn't be too worried about their talls, outside of Roughead they're not that good (in a tall sense anyway, Gunston's pretty good but not as a tall, Toovey's a good matchup).

No chance of sending Cloke down back, we badly need him up forward. If Frost is out then Marsh comes in, it's the only option we have as far as I can see.

If Frost doesn't get up i reckon we'll play White as a KB, he'd be a better option than Marsh at this stage.

Yes this is predicated on Frost's knee not coming up.

I'm not a fan of throwing a debutante to the wolves. Whoever Marsh plays on is who the Hawks will play through. He possibly swims but he probably sinks and the experience could do him psychological harm

^^And then we lose, right? We'd be more certain of losing if we moved Cloke to defense. Cloke up forward's one of the few areas we could possibly have an advantage. Marsh has at least been playing defense in the VFL. Sure, he might not be able to beat a Roughead, but all he needs to do is compete. We'd be relying more on team defense anyway.

I don't think we'll need to worry though, Frost should be playing.

Yep, I agree. Goes to shoit though if Frosty doesn't get up for the game and I think either Oxley or Marsh will get a crack. Marsh more likely due to extra fitness.

Reid and Nat Brown out is just killing us, now maybe Frost, Maxy maybe, how much more can we take with these farrrking never ending injuries to key players. ? Roughnut is a big, big problem, we can cover that ol nth reject Hale, but bloody roughnut concerns me, as does of course, little ravioli rioli, he always has a picnic against us. Keefe to roughnut I guess, and tooves too Hale, and we all buy some prayer beads, and pray like bloody hell to the greek or roman gods, like Zeus. !

I agree.

It's not their talls as a stength that worries me, it's our talls, or lack thereof, as a weakness that worries me.

Marley, Tom, Paul and Harry will certainly have their work cut out for them but at least they will be on the park and matched up to a suitable opponent.

I am concerned that there will be a horrible matchup for us amongst their talls and that it will be exploited.

At any rate, hopefully A_I is right and all this is moot because Frost plays
