What the heck is happening? It seems every day someone else goes down with an injury. No Pendles on the weekend and we can kiss that game goodbye. It's not just the loss of Pendles, but the fact half our best 22 will be sitting in the stands.

We got a good run last season (after years of plenty of injuries), so now it seems fate is dealing us a savage blow again.

I hope we can pull off a win. If we do it will be the greatest victory against the odds for many years.

holey moley this could be one of our shortest teams on record, even with the collingwood six footers. what kind of crisis are we in when Pendles was being counted as one of our talls.

Can we beat the dogs just by grubbing the ball? How desperate are we to get the likes of the 2024 Krueger and Johnson versions into the AFL team

I have worn out a pair of Rosary beads over this game but am sustained by the hope that for the King's Birthday game that all of Pendlebury, Hoskin-Elliott, McInnes and Mitchell are back...

Friday night will be an absolutely tough slog for both teams- both down on key personnel. If the Pies win, we will face Melbourne at the equivalent of 8 wins and 4 losses- a remarkable feat if achieved given all that has happened.

I imagine that if we hit our Bye at 10 and 4 that no team in the competition would relish meeting us as the troops begin to file back in...

Agree with Kreuger, Markov and McCrae, but I think I would select Howe over AJ and try Howe forward.

MSD picks aside, we’ll have no more than 28 listed players available to choose from for Friday night’s game. Pretty brutal.

Tipping Dogs by 53. We are way too unsettled now. You can only cover injuries for so long.

Going to be a difficult one due to the injuries, but I have faith our system holds up well in spite of that and it will keep us competitive.

Want to see the team changes first before completely writing us off.

Long in for Pendles maybe
As close to a like for like (size wise) we have available
Run him with the Bont on the ball. Bont will take him to where the action is and he has the height and size to compete with him

Our first taste of what FWP - Football Without Pendles will look like.

^Lad, this could be one of the great galvanising wins we'll witness by our Club. I'm still of a view our system is strong enough to contend, but it's yet to be seen whether the youngsters can stay in the game for 4qtrs from a physical and mental fatigue perspective.
Looking forward to seeing what type of games Cameron, Lipinski, Macrae and Crisp put together to keep our midfield unit ticking over. If Mitchell is named, our rotations will be all the better.

In relative terms this certainly won’t be our best team but there are still a heap of all Australians who will suit up, not to mention premiership players.

It may not be enough to get us over the line but there’s certainly something “more” about our squad than just the combined skill in accumulating kicks, marks and goals.

I really enjoyed the coaches attitude at the presser about how excited he is to see what the group can achieve recognising that right now the feats must be achieved by the next best available players. If he can continue to convince the whole squad that we won’t be defined by jordy or pendles missing then any thing is possible. You can’t tell me that Lachie Bramble is that much better than Lachie Sullivan that were a certainty to lose…

Hard to get a line on the Dogs. When they’ve been bad they have been diabolical, but the last month they’ve played more befitting of their list.

https://www.sen.com.au/news/2024/05/29/collingwood-recruiter-admits-ready-made-mid-season-draftee-may-have-already/

Unfortunately, Hine revealed that the 194cm midfielder is carrying a niggle that will sideline him for a fortnight, but he did admit that he may have already played AFL in 2024 if he was on the list earlier given the club’s injury profile.

“Ned already has fitted into our program,” Hine said.

“He’s got a little niggle at the moment, which is only a one-or two-week injury, but you could make a case potentially that he may have already played given our profile."

Not Long, he's not available
He has a 1-2 week injury
