the cynic in me thinks the desire to return is more a bargaining chip than any real intent to come home.

^I disagree.
He could drive a really hard bargain with suitors, move back to his home state, play more at the G which would have been a childhood dream, and have opportunities to play finals. Surely very strong incentives compared to playing in front of 8,000 in a struggling team. They'd have to have a very strong turn around to remain a chance IMO.

I don't know, JW, methinks it would horrible playing for GWS, and I doubt it will ever get better. At least I hope it won't.

Please refer Gold Coast Suns... yes GWS have gone a different way with their recruiting and they weren't able to recruit a GAjr, but don't for a minute think they'll not develop into a powerhouse and play finals. Got some significant injury issues at the moment which they can little afford but they will be scarey good. Then it'll be like Port, supporters will start to come out of the woodwork. Is that enough to retain some of their kids... I don't know.

Either way, it's going to be a very long 18 months if we're going to be discussing the 2015 ND period for the full duration.

Probably gonna get shot down on here, but stuff it. Trade Cloke for Cameron.

Better kick, has years on his side. We can survive with Reid, Cameron, White, Moore and whoever else lines up inside 50.

Probably not gonna happen though.

There's obviously no question over whether we should chase him. The only question is how much we can afford to throw his way.

Port supporters actually know and like the game. Western Sydney folk couldn't give a rat's about footy, and that is unlikely to change no matter how well they do.

I really hope the GWS folds in the next 5 years.
