Neville Bruns played footy against my old man when he was a young bloke starring for Leitchville back in the 70's.
He's a nice bloke despite what his on field demenour suggests but he still hates Lethal's guts. Bruns had a brother (reputed to be as good or even better than Neville) who got permanently brain damaged and nearly died after an on field incident (I don't know whether it was accidental or not) and required permanent care afterwards. So I can understand why he holds a grudge towards Matthews in light of what happened to his brother and what could have been for him.
The fact that Hawthorn supporters booed Bruns for the rest of his career after what one of their players did just cements what a pack of wankers and hypocrites they are. |

I always thought the Bruns hit was out of character, but that video reel suggests it was his modus operandi. Very few legitimate bumps there, even of the sort that would get you four weeks nowadays. Just went straight for the head.
