Totally agree in respect to Fas, ok he had 2 big blunders kicking in from fullback but it seems a lot of people only remember these 2 incidents including one pisshead HS journo (writes the tackle) who had him in his dislikes mentioning these blunders.
Failed to mention his tackle in the middle of the ground that stopped a Geelong attack then a second effort tap on to follow up that got the ball going our way and led to a goal in the 2nd qtr. _________________ Human behavioural studies suggest people who use a lot of swear words tend to be more honest & trustworthy. |

In all: 3 OK quarters & one very good quarter. Really pleasing for a 3 gamer. Level headed.
Seeing the replay again - Fas played a good game for his first game back. Cloke definitely ought to have been awarded at least 2-3 free kicks.
The umpires also missed giving a free against Dawson Simpson for incorrect disposal after trying to get the ball from the ruck late in the last quarter. This was a massive oversight / error & may have affected the outcome of the game as we had momentum after Elliot's 2 goals. We would have had a free to go into attack from the centre area with good time to spare. |
That happens all the time to Collingwood. |

Had a brilliant weekend in Melbourne watching the footy. Two of the guys were looking forward to Freo getting revenge on the Hawks..... wipeout. So I was very proud of our young team's endeavour and effort to really take it up to Geelong. Jamie Elliott's mark was just breathtaking. To be still in the game in the last few minutes, just an ounce of luck to turn it our way, or just one free to big Trav who was cruelly dealt with all night. top stuff 'Pies. Even enjoyed the dance troupe. Winning is not far away for these fella's.
Good year to build a team. Too many impressive moments to list ém. _________________ Taobh le taobh bata muid le chéile |

I forgot to comment post-match on this but I was really proud of the way the side fought out this game despite the loss in the end.
Elliott was a clear standout for me with five goals on the night! This game provided some encouraging signs heading into the season in general. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |
