Firstly, I think the coming of GWS / Gold Coast is completely overrated. Gold Coast have been in it for long enough to show what they do.

The Suns just beat Geelong by 40 points.

I like the direction we're headed in, a very young side who look to be learning. We are not top 4 material at the moment but the signs are promising. Realistically if we can make and win a final this year then that is a step forward. We need to be aggressive in picking up another quality mid. But I think the future looks good and today's game showed patches of what we can and will be. Go pies.[/u]

Bit early for the Club marketing department to be putting out statements like this to sell merchandise in the shop. Cut the spin. Clean the feathers and lets see some tough meat. We are going backwards. These posts are completely off the mark.

Ignore them. They have a need to hijack every thread with their baseless negativity.

Good thread and I completely agree. The future is looking very bright and I'm really looking forward to seeing how far we can go next year.

The Suns just beat Geelong by 40 points.

Geelong nearly got done by the scum the other week too. It's not like they've been in stellar form recently.

Yes, we've taken the youngest side to win a flag in 20 odd years, disassembled it because our coach couldn't get their respect and wasn't capable of reigning them in and now reloading for a new crack just in time for the likes of Pendles and Cloke to be past their best and GC and GWS domination.
The future is rosy guys.

We've come close to beating the AFL with a far inferior list than we have now mate, when our young group clicks god help everyone else, even the umpires will need to find new ways to rob us.

The expansion teams know their premiership cups don't show up in a mirror.

Yes we have a good list but so do another 7/8 sides in the league with a few clearly superior to ours.
Not sure I quiet get your reference of us coming close to beating the AFL either.

How far out are we looking?
-Pendlebury has at least 5 good years in him
-Beams 7-8
-Sidebottom same
-Adams a decade as an extractor who will get more poise with time. Was good yesterday
-Freeman, a top 10 draft pick, has a decade in him
-Broomhead definitely has class and a decade of time left in him
-Kennedy has a decade and will get more poise in time
-Seedsman has some class and pace and a decade ahead

Seriously, that is a bunch of first round picks. Some individuals on here are far too bearish and seemingly offer such a negative view because they are miserable or looking for a fight or just impatient and ignorant.

I also posted this on the post game topic

From yesterdays game

Average Games Experience: Hawthorn 113 - Pies 87,

Players with less than 50 games: Hawthorn 6 - Pies 11,

Less than 50 games Hawthorn: Litherland, Ceglar, Ross, Dureyea, Spangher & Hill

Less than 50 games Pies: Broomhead, Langdon, Frost, Witts, Thomas, Dwyer, Williams, Keeffe, Seedsman, Adams & Elliott

When all the players from both sides have reached 50 games, who has more scope for improvement?
