The finalised VFL list won't come until after the practice matches, I would think.
As for best 22s, it's a little bit more academic in the VFL (allowing for the fact that best 22s are an academic exercise anyway), considering that the AFL guys automatically get selection regardless. The VFL guys are basically there on a needs basis, barring Hellier, who gets a game as captain (and on merit as well, it should be added).
And that's before we factor in the small little fact that we haven't played our practice matches yet or that we're not accounting for natural growth and improvement from guys on both lists or the almost certainty that we'll lose blokes to injury.
But, seeing as you asked, here's what I see as our best VFL side with all our AFL players available bar Scharenberg and the two clenskins...
B: Jackson Ramsay, Tyson Goldsack, Adam Oxley
HB: Brayden Maynard, Jack Frost, Tom Phillips
C: Josh Smith, Rupert Wills, Ben Sinclair
HF: Alex Fasolo, Darcy Moore, Brent Macaffer
F: Mason Cox, Darrean Wyatt, Ben Crocker
R: Jarrod Witts, Jarryd Blair , Matthew Goodyear
INT: Corey Gault, Brayden Sier, Tim Golds, Jack Hellier (c)
...and here's what I would pick if I was allowed an open selection policy (say, for a final)...
B: Jackson Ramsay, Tyson Goldsack, Lachlan Wallace
HB: Brayden Maynard, Jack Frost, Adam Oxley
C: Josh Smith, Ben Moloney, Ben Sinclair
HF: Alex Fasolo, Michael Still, Brent Macaffer
F: Mason Cox, Darcy Moore, Lachlan Ferguson
R: Jarrod Witts, Jarryd Blair, Matthew Goodyear
INT: Jack Hellier (c), Tom Phillips, Ben Crocker, Rupert Wills
That second team in particular will displease people, but it's what I'd be going with if I were allowed to pick a side to win a final without any other consideration and had everyone in that first team to choose from...

Club confirm Kelly's signature, along with a few others and they casually slip another new signing in as well...
Quote: | Bendigo Pioneers pair Lachlan Tardrew and Marty Hore will call the Holden Centre home after completing successful seasons in the TAC Cup, while Dale Hinkley and Matthew Smith have also been recruited via Birchep-Watchem and Strathfieldsaye respectively. |

Seems like this guy Smith is a midfielder, which makes for a break from recruiting all these half back flankers for a change... although, he has been described as a "running back" in one piece that came up in my search, so I guess he ticks all the boxes then... |

Only because I would be playing Reid forward and using White as the relief ruck.
Up to Moore to force a reshuffle... |

Attention on retention for Collingwood's @VFL squad: 16 returnees this year, reports GM Luke Gatti. Jordan Kelly heads list of arrivals. |

BigFooty poster 35Daicos points this out regarding Lachie Howe...
Quote: | Best and Fairest John Shaw received some happy news today when football Director Matt Hannebery announced that 199cm (6' 6" in the old) ruckman Lachie Howe will join the Old Xavs for the 2016 campaign.
Lachie, at 22, has considerable football experience since coming down from Rennie, (a small town north of Yarrawonga in NSW) to board at Xavier. He played U18s with the Murray Bushrangers and has also spent time with both Geelong and Collingwood VFL outfits. In 2015, he was a star in St Joseph's grand final win in the Barwon League.
He will again do a preseason with the Pies but expects to play the majority of the year with the Claret and Stout. |

I guess Howe is staying then. Good to see. |

Beat me to it, JW!
Not good news for Cal. Has been a handy foot soldier the past couple of years and looked good during the practice matches. Get well soon, sir.
Welcome to all our newcomers, welcome back to our returning players (along with Lachie Ferguson after taking a year out of the VFL) and best of wishes to our departing players. |
