Goldsack has had a good year with his versatility a real bonus when our two back went down against the eagles.

He landed badly when tackled early against the demons and I think giving him a rest this week is a good move. He will be needed against the Hawks!

He does seem to need a week or two to get going after a long period out - (most players do) but I suspect this will be a short stint and will actually help rather than hurt his game against the Hawks - which is the game we will need him to play well.

Exactly, a short break to rest the knee shouldn't be an issue.

After reading the VFL report I'm really not surprised by Kennedy being named.
Would live to see him spend a bit of time through the middle.

Did you see how many tackles he laid? Amazing.

It was that sort of a day. More impressive was spread from the stoppages and his use of the footy.

I like Kennedy and hope he does well but I didn't take anything much about Ben (or, frankly, anyone else) from watching last week's VFL game.

I accept that I left around three-quarter time (and I understand he was at his best in the final term) - but that was mostly because the football was tedious and there was virtually no competent disposal by either side while I was there (and partly because Casey is the worst place I've ever stood to watch a football game - including standing at the scoreboard end of Victory Park in the driving rain, on my own, just to make sure there was someone there to abuse Mark Jackson when he was playing for Geelong).

Didn't he captain Collingwood under 19's at one stage before that?

When was he out of form?? Rolling Eyes

I mean that Goldsack is the type of player who takes a few weeks to get back into the flow again. It's well-documented on this forum he takes time to find touch again after missing games.

Sheesh.

^ maybe ball again given the contested nature the game is likely to be.

Disappointing ins. Would have liked to see one of the young players who've been banging the door down at VFL level given a go.

Adams gets another chance, but it's almost certain that either Adams, Ball or Thomas will be the sub. We rarely play two of them, let alone three.

white was a given. There is no point in giving broomy a game ( even if he deserves it ) unless someone else is under a genuine injury cloud. i honestly would have left fasolo in, yeah he had a bad game but you can't make the ball come too you ( or most players can't ) Razz. Ben kennedy must be getting sick of this but we will do well to hold onto him

Rapt to see Adams given another go. I reckon he will play a big part in September action. He's an absolute warrior and true hard nut. He's just lacked a bit of composure in his recent senior appearances. Bucks clearly believes in him and that's good enough for me. Given he didn't play at all last week I'd be surprised if was the sub this week as he would lose too much conditioning. Since Ball was the sub last week after missing the previous week, he needs a full game too, so my guess is that Thomas is the likely sub. then again wtfwik?
