Match Report.Pies give bombers a lesson..

There is nothing..except a premiership..that is better than a win over carlscum.
But a win over essendon runs close.especially when it sows up the double chance for us.
No banners tonight for players to run thru..too windy..instead all cheer squad members line up and give the boys a guard of honour.
Before proceedings there was an irish touch as the lap of honour was for To be Shaw to be Shaw.
a tribute to tony and rays contribution to the club.
the way we have honoured past players this year has been terrific.

On the pine to begin with are Cole,Swan,Kinnear and Lonie.
we win toss and kick with an apparently 4 goal breeze but it is very swirly and unpredictable.
thatll teach the bummers to play all year under a roof i say.
when the conditions get rough its the time that the real teams get going and the pretty boys are found wanting.

we battle hard against the wind for 5 minutes until josh is pinged for not very much at all and they goal.
Bucks has a long shot that is a minor score.
the wind is playing havoc with the kicks and its affecting the way the ball is bouncing as well.
taz marks on the wing.it seems his role is to run fletcher off his feet and set things up for us.
he does his job very well tonight too.

Burns from bottom of pack gets it to Lonie and he doesnt muck around and sinks a goal from 40.
Woey roves a ruck and wobbles it thru over and under 12 bumbers somehow for a goal!!amazing stuff.Shaw pinged for holding the ball,Cloke T/O hird snaps a PT.
Scoots pass to Burns is caught in the wind and a buber runs into goal...methinks he ran too far..unfortunately ump disagreed.

LLoyd who hasnt had a sniff all night except for wakes underarm,gets an arsey goal of all time...just a freak wakes couldnt have done any better than he did.
40 secs to half time Kinears kick is held up by wind and bumbers goal to go 43-37 up at half time.
This is one heck of a battle tonight.
We level the scores early doors after some great work by Clokey who got it down to Burns.
LLoyd gets a mark 5 mtrs out as the ball just dropped in his lap when the wind got it,wakes runs off the ground and straight up the race...not to be seen again tonight sadly.
he was superb up til then.

it wasnt as far as the bumber who goaled earlier ran either.

Cloke and Clement are just superb.
Its tough,its rough,its hard,and we know it and love it.
this is the way footy is meant to be played.
