At the game it DEFINITELY looked like a goal to us from behind the goals.

I haven't seen the replay but on MMM Sam and Co. agreed.

Also up the other end it looked like Essendon kicked a point which the goal umpire called a goal - did anyone notice that?

When will they bring in mandatory eye testing for goal umpires?

Yeah, and I'm also with Sam that Pretty-Boy Lloyd's "goal" should have been disallowed too. He was holding onto the Goal-Post as he kicked the ball. At the very least that should be adjudicated a point.

I was under the impression that any player shaking or coming into contact with a Goal-Post while a Goal is being kicked was a reportable offense. I wonder if that applies if the same player who is in contact with the Post is the player kicking the Goal?

MMM were definately saying the umps got that one wrong too. They said if your holding the post then it's deemed a point, but then came back later and said that they had had it checked with the AFL and the AFL definately rule it a goal. even the commentators didn't buy that one.

Buck's goal looked like a goal to us behind the goals on level 1, the commentators watched the replay and still called it a goal, in by at least a metre. I watched it on the reply and i couldn't tell.

The AFL would say anything to save their own and the Umpire's butts. I reckon they were telling Porkys.

Honestly, I don't think there would be a specific rule for what happened, but if you interpret the existing rule, Lloyd would have to be reported.

If it was one of our players holding the goalpost they would be reported on video evidence at least.

I'm sure they will look into the Lloyd incident - NOT.

I can bet that it wont even come up as an issue whatsoever.
