No it was Michael VOSS for the Brisbane Lions Nuclear. I feel for him because in 1994 when I played for a local team (Tooraddin-Dalmore, not far from ya Joffa) I broke my tibia and fibula very similar to that about half way up my shin. Still gives me heel today. Cut short my footy career so now I watch the pies instead. It was on the same weekend as Jamie Lawson for the Swans did his exactly the same break but he developed bad compliactions. Yes the Voss incident is quite sickening as they all are and take it from me it Faaaarrrrken hurt. It is also on the video "90's the decade that delivered".
Cheers

A guy called Bust (I kid you not) who played for Man City did the same thing a few years back. I have seen a photo of it but not the video.Henrik Larson also did it playing for Celtic. I have seen the video for that and will try and track it down.

Sorry Joffa, Tooradin are the seagulls who play in a lovely green and red number (YUK!). I did play most of my footy though at Narre Warren who are the Magpies before being enticed to Tooradin. It was the closest to being in the black and white that I could get.

I remember the Man City guy. Pictures of it were plastered all over the papers. Schmiechel (ManU gk) was v close to the incident and was pretty crook over it. The bloke did try a comeback (about 18mths later if my memory serves me correct, but never got back to 100%.

Who was the Sydney guy who replaced his kneecap. I remember that one!

London Dave: From memory, the Sydney Swans guy seen hitting his kneecap back into place was Darren Creswell. It hurt just watching that one!

GO PIES.
