Where there is smoke, there is fire. Both The Age and the Herald Sun say the deal is set to be consumated, but Carlton still have to pay some of Whitnall's salary next season:

The side that ends up with Whitnall are BIG time losers. Never touch a hack show be all clubs mottos. Whitnall should retire with his integrity intact.
