i am hoping that somebody here can possibly help me.

i am after a vhs/dvd copy of the 1988 game played at the Oval in October of 1988, this match was won by Collingwood by about 14 points, and i beleive that Craig Kelly made his debut for Collingwood.

This game is not available thru name a game, afl video, ch 7, or the clubs, so if anyone can help me, i would greatly appreciate it.

thank you

hehe, iirc, Kelly on debut gave Derm an accidental back hander which resulted in a blood nose. Smile

You might be right, but my recollection is that Ned debuted in LA, at a game played on an indoor baseball pitch! I can clearly remember Ned steaming in at a centre bounce and flattening Brereton, who had to be stretchered off. I remember thinking at the time, at last we've got an enforcer in our side, now we set our sights on winning a Premiership!

One of those weird games played on astroturf, so its not surprising nobody kept a copy.
I liked the way they printed "Collingwood 1988 World Champions" t shirts that really annoyed opposition supporters the next season.

I'm pretty sure we played Geelong in our first game overseas that year. From what I recall that game was played in Florida.

We beat Geelong and then went on to play Hawthorn in the final in Toronto.

Not sure if Ned played in that first game against Geelong. I do remember though that he carried a two match suspension into the following VFL season from his last game for Norwood. He was obvioulsy allowed to play in the 'World Cup' games.

Yeah, I think it was Toronto. I knew we'd soon win a flag after seeing Ned clean up Brereton in the centre. It was the first time we'd had a genuine enforcer in our side since the days of the Weed. Millane was the icing on the cake.
