Midfield rebuild 6 years overdue

I think that we need to take some steps at years end to start addressing our biggest weakness.

In no particular order....

Holland and Licuria need to retire at years end. I won't bother explaining why these guys have no future at the club. I appreciate the service they have provided but we are not a retirement home.

Blood Wellingham for the rest of the year even if we miss the finals.

Give Davies 4 rounds to prove that he has a role to fill in our future midfield. Piss him off if he shows nothing and stop wasting his and our time playing him at WT.

Get Dale FIT. He is probably the closest thing we have to a quick midfield solution with a good football brain.

Trade fringe players and take a gamble on a ruckman and a couple of midfield projects.

Spend the summer conditioning Clarke's body to take more hits in the midfield. He goes in hard but his body seems to be suffering.

The signs have been bad for 4 weeks. Our center work has been terrible for weeks and our half backline is dead on its feet because its over-worked.

We have a bright future particularly with some of the key position players we have coming through.... but we need to stop avoiding the midfield rebuild.... its dragging our whole side down

Any team that cant dominate the clearances against Essendon Carlton and Richmond needs to face up to reality.
