MCG - Collingwood supporters are always outnumbered there

The thing I noticed at the Melbourne game, the Brisbane game, the Carlton game and the essenodon game is we are always outnumbered.

Guess what, we were outnumbered again tonight.

Collingwood are meant to have the most supporters who are the most one eyed and feral yet in every game we are completely outnumbered and hardly seem to make any noise.

The chants of Collingwood, Collingwood are non existant.

When the boys fought back to hit the front in the 3rd quarter I expected something. In the old days the chant would have gone up and we, as supporters would have looked like something other than a rabble.

Is it because of the social club in the ponsford stand, a long way from the actual play. But we are all disjointed and disorganised all over the ground.

No chants.

No support.

Out numbered.

Out witted.

Every week.

Yet we are meant to be the biggest, baddest supporter base.

It just doesn't make sense.

I agree mate we are outnumbered every week. I couldn't make it tonight because I had soccer training, so pretended the game was live on TV. But last week against Carlton we were out numbered. Next week is our home game so I expect a better turn out.

No we are not outnumbered, but if you go & sit in the Southern Stand behind the opposition cheersquad then that's where all the rest of the supporters congregate & they feed off eachother.

It was all Collingwood where I was & has been so every week.

I heard from other supporters that we clearly outnumbered Essendon supporters,and there's no way known that the Brisbane Lions would have had more supporters than us in Melbourne,so i think you're being overly dramatic in suggesting that we're outnumbered every time we play at the M.C.G.

Where did you sit the Richmond Cheer squad, we outnumber every team we play, so far you posting a topic about anything and everything you can find that is negativly directed at this club.

Sorry mate, you are wrong. The whole of the Southern Stand was Richmond supporters. The only chant that came out was for Richmond, Richmond.

When we got infront, there was nothing from our supporter base. Years of yore, the whole of the MCG would have rocked to the chant of Collingwood. A chant that could be heard on the Dandenong hills.

But it just doesn't happen anymore.

And it is meant to be our home ground. Sheesh.

It was disgusting that there was 2x more Bitchmond fans there then us.

i watched it on tv and it did look like there were a lot more richmond fans and they were 10x as loud.

We, the Collingwood supporter base have lost something. We no longer believe in our team as we have seen them capitulate too many times in the past. We no longer sing the song at the start of the game and we no longer chant for our team when they hit the front.

Our club is bleeding and slowly dieing. There is no longer the player and supporter interface and it is all played for the corporate dolloar now. We realise how unimportant we are.

The only people who can save it are us the fans. But alas, based on last nights performance, it all looks too hard. The Corporates have taken over and the fans have been moved out. Making a dollar has become more important than winning the premiership.

Sad. Very Sad.

i as a pies cheersquad member, i chant every chant every week, the chant does go up just not very loud.

I agree it is sad and pathetic however we are never outnumbered, but back in 2002/03 our fans used to be much louder and not enough want to join in, i along with a few others try desperately every week to promote chanting, we encourage it in the cheersquad newsletter and want to get the ponsford rocking, we do our bit but if other people are not going to join in they should be ashamed and wonder again what they go to the footy for, we are never outnumbered, but we cannot allow ourselves to be outnoised, there better be PLENTY OF SPIRIT NEXT WEEK!
