I'm glad Toovey is getting a call up, I like the kid & even though he has his doubters I hope he can prove them all wrong this week & show why he has had the call up & why he deserves his place in the team.

Unfortunate about Goldy, hopefully he'll be back for next week.

Let's have more "shocking" players then. Jeez, if we had ... oh, let's say ten "shocking" players, that would be 30 goals a game. I reckon Wakes and Heater and co would feel pretty confident about keeping opposition sides down to less than 30 goals a match.

You can suggest it, but I don't agree.

DTM said something ridiculous, I told him so (in a common, indeed time-honoured, fashion). When in the past DTM has said something astute, apt or otherwise noteworthy, I have responded to that with praise. Likewise, DTM has smacked me down at times and agreed with me at other times.

DTM is a big boy and doesn't need an apology from me, (nor will he get one). Just five minutes ago I was reading one of your posts in another thread, Troppo, and thinking what an asset you are to this board. This one, however, I see as pointless and although I'm sure well-meaning, unnecessary.

That's OK. We don't all have to agree all of the time. I will nevertheless look forward to your future posts.

Whatever problems DTM has, I doubt Tannin meant that comment personally and his point is still valid. Toovey has rarely been far away from getting a call-up back to the seniors and from what I've read he was best on ground in his VFL game last weekend. So he fully deserves his promotion.

People have short memories. The kid played some fine games for us last year before fading as the rigours of the season wore on - that's hardly unusual. He's got a big motor and a big match temperament. Wish him luck - he's playing for Collingwood, and we're all hacks next to that achievement!
