Dear Anne Williams, Get Well Soon (Our Prayers Are With You)

Tonight I ran into a lady who used to be in the Collingwood cheersquad back when I had first joined in 1995. Well actually I walked into her while stepping out the way for someone to get into my row and all I heard was "watch out Daniel" in a nasty sounding tone :shock: and I turned around to say sorry and before I got a chance to apologise to her she cut me off and said "you dont remember me do you?" and then I replied well "I know your face, (to her daughter) but I dont know yours" She told me who she was. It was a lady by the name of Anne. She used to help out in the cheersquad back in the late 90's and I used to talk with her son Anthony a fair bit at the matches. Anne also used to post here when she lived in England because she used to be the President of the London Supporters group, her Nicks username was ANNEWILO for anyone who might remember.

I aksed her how she had been and she just replied well not too well and she then went onto telling me that she had cancer. :( It didnt shock me as she was wearing a beanie and looked very pale! Automatically I told her I was really shocked and sorry to hear that she was sick and that I hoped she would get better soon. I didnt want to ask but my curiousity got the better of me and I said to her "is the cancer terminal?" She said it could kill her but she has a very good chance of surviving and that she has to just keep on going with her kemo theropy.

This has really got to me and I was thinking about when Anne used to have bright red or orange hair and when she used to set me straight in the cheersquad if I swore or something like that and I thought that I should put a get well note on Nicks and hope that she her daughter Marissa or son Anth might see it, rad it to her and see that all her Collingwood brothers and sisters are praying for her to get well soon and be back at the footy supporting the boys like the old days.

FROM EVERYONE AT NICKS ANNE, WE ALL HOPE YOU GET WELL SOON AND HOPE YOU CAN BEAT THIS SHOCKING ILLNESS. OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU AND THE FAMILY AND I HOPE TO SEE YOU ROUND LALOR AREA AGAIN SOON JUST AS YOU WERE WHEN I LAST SEEN YOU, AS FIT AS A FIDDLE!!!

PS: As much as we would bicker with one another back in the day LOL, please know that I am praying for your full recovery and hope one day you get back to living your life too the full!!! :)

Yeah I certainly hope she does get well very soon. Its sad to see anyone with this type of illness but when its someone you have known for quite a while it really hits you. Sad
