Post subject: Eddie hits back at BucksReply with quote

Can someone please tell me what's going on between Eddie and Nathan? When did this marriage break up?

************************************

Herald Sun

Earlier, McGuire had come under fire from former captain Nathan Buckley. "I can't understand why Eddie and Mick had to discuss it," he said.

Yesterday McGuire hit back, saying chief executive Gary Pert and football manager Geoff Walsh were the right people to run yesterday's conference.

"Nathan Buckley said on the radio last night that I shouldn't be there, so we have got to do what Bucks says, don't we . . .

"I actually do have a business to run as well. We were there all last night at my house until about 10.30 or 11pm on Monday and then again all this morning."

He said it was nonsense to suggest anyone would tell him not to appear. "Who would tell me? I am the president. I do the telling."

*********************************************

I particularly don't like the authoritarian, dictator-like line at the end "I'm the president, I do the telling."

Times up Ed! Thanks, but we must move on. Your performance in that media stunt on Monday afternoon was an embarrassment to us all.

Time for change. A new president and Nathan Buckley for coach at the end of Mick's contract in 2009.

A new board with some past players on it.

Go back to what you do best Ed. Supporting Collingwood and hosting TV shows.

Funny, most of the people saying Ed's time is up, aren't even able to vote.
The voters however, no doubt, have a different view and if an election was held today Eddie would be re-elected by about 85% of voters.

Nicks is just one view, not the view

Arrogence personified, looks like Eddie's true personality is comming out. Eddie behind closed doors is a differenct person to Eddie the media personality.

Obviously people completely missed the point of the comment

"I am the President, I do the telling"

It was made in regards to criticism of him being absent at the press conference and not in control of things.

Bagging Eddie is feng shui atm.

for me it is the imagery of indignation and contempt eddie would have been experiencing when being questioned about it.

it is a classic response. maybe my sense of humour is warped.

Who cares anyway, only idiots hang off every word someone says waiting to pot them.

Jealous people trying to get there moneys worth atm. I guess when you're so successful you'll always have a fair amount of envy directed towards.
