Just wanted to see if I could make a competitive team out of our youngest players....here's what I came up with...thoughts? It looks pretty damn good to me (Shaw just sneeks in at the grand old age of 24) Cool . Ofcourse we should have traded most of these....but the Pies admin are just too bloody inept....

Goldsack (22), Reid (20), O'brien (23)

Shaw (24), Brown (21), Toovey (22)

Pendelbury (21), Beams (19), Sidebottom (19)

Wellingham (21), Thomas (22) Wood (22)

Rusling (23), Cloke (22), Macaffer (23)

Dick (22), Dawes (21), Anthony (21)

Bench: Barham (21), McCarthy (20), Cox (23), Blair (19)

Like it a lot, frank, if we may call you that Smile May we also call you Tongue in Cheek, regarding the idea of should have traded "most" of these.

How could you list Dale Thomas as a key position forward? His role would be as a rover. Cloke at CHF with Anthony at FF.

Brilliant to see things like that, great future ahead. Glad we didn't get Luke Ball at the cost of losing someone like Wellingham.

Competitive?...Maybe. But competitive against who?? Freo...Yes, Melbourne...Yes. St.Kilda...No...Geelong...No.

16 of this 22 are yet to prove they can hold down a senior spot on our list and therefore the jury is still out on whether they will make it as AFL footballers.

Potential is there no doubt but all teams have kids with potential so our situation is not particularly special in any way.

StKilda has 5 players on their list under 22, how bad is that for a long term solution.

^ Yes mattys123 and Geelong probably isn't much better although I haven't check that out. We need a big chunk of this group to develop as topliners together at the same time so when the current powerhouses drop off WE will be the next team in line to dominate.
