you must have an extremely simple view of footy. how, at the end of the 2009 season, you can arrive at that conclusion?

How good were the Brisbane Lions when the Brisbane Bears merged with Fitzoy and brought in half a dozen new players into the lineup? They were crap for 2 seasons until they started to work together and it then took another 6 years before they actually won a flag.

It can go both ways. It could cause a disruptive influence or they could all gel straight away. We don't know yet and will have to wait until March to start finding out.

What we do know right now is they have just recruited one of the biggest disruptive influences on a team ever. I was on the Fev bandwagon but have now jumped off before it reaches the Surpreme Court of Australia!

Brisbane performed the worst of any team in trade week. They will crash and burn.

Brought in a few mediocre players, and overpaid for one complete idiot (basically 2 1st round picks) who's on-field behaviour is almost as bad as his off-field. Pissed off one of their club stalwarts, who from reports could walk or even retire, and surely unsettled a number of others with their bizarre scatter gun approach to the week. All the signs of a noob coach out of his depth.

I don't think they had a good week at all, and can't see significant improvement in them next season.

Raines, Buchanan, Clarke and Staker wouldn't have gotten a game with Geelong, St Kilda, Dogs or Pies this year.

One thing's for sure, I could coach the lions next year.

Simple gameplan - everybody learn to kick torps down to the forward line. With Fev, Brown and Bradshaw, they've now got easily the best forward line in the comp, and possibly the best since Carey and McKernan (at his best).

When did they go past us.

Did I miss a whole season or something?

quite possibly you've missed a few. it's funny how a fourth placed side can be so far from the flag yet all the lower also-ran types seem to be magically closer. Confused

Michael Voss is out of control. First he sacks all his assistant coaches and then he offers all his players in all kinds of directions to whatever club will take them. Signs of a desperate man in too much of a hurry...he will fail!

How are Bradshaw and Rischitelli going to feel now that they were used as bait?

He could have gradually built an awesome side for himself. Now he's given away an awesome kid in Lachie Henderson and two excellent draft picks.

Due to his actions during trade week 2009, if Voss fails in the present he's screwed in the future.

I don't even know why brisbane would get young brendan even regardless of his umm... shortcomings. They must be the team in least need of another forward target, possibly along with st kilda. On wednesday morning they were $26 for the 2010 flag, late afternoon $21, next morning $17 and for a couple of days now actually $13.

The market is so excitable and as such laughably ripe for the picking. We remember that the morning after Cousins was taken by richmond they were $17 for the 2009 flag. Yes that's right, $17 for richmond to actually win the grand final this past season. Goodness me.

Unless the gorillas have some incredible "Visy Ambassadorships" going on, they are going to have to do some aggressive list management to stay under the salary cap. They won't get the benefit of veterans listing for Fev, and his contract is apparently heavily back ended. This will further undermine the cohesiveness of a club that has already shown a lack of respect for a long time servant in Bradshaw. This may already be having an affect that the Toss did not bank on. I wonder if the sponsors are as enthusiastic as the Toss is about their logo on Fevs body Twisted Evil
