Leon Davis to finish his career at Collingwood.

For those who follow the Magpies and didn't want him to be traded, our faith in Leon will be repaid.

For those who follow the Magpies and wanted him traded (Leon certainly has trade value), you will say one day...Geez I'm glad we didn't trade him.

What ever happens in the future, in the history of our great club. It will be an honour to recognise Leon Davis as a Collingwood Champion who played his whole career at this mighty club.

For those who reported that Leon wanted out, do not try and break this great club because you are wasting your time.

Hopefully ths will make Leon stronger, but you never know, he probably doesn't give much credence to all this trade talk and is getting on with things as normal.
Leon has already made his mark at Collingwood and it appears he is happy to be at Collingwood so we should support him now more than ever.
Here's to Leon you champ!!!!

The hope is players like Leon and Josh will benefit from the development of those around them, and of course the recruitment of Jolly in the latter's case. Some players play roles, while others carry the side, hence IMO the focus ought to be on say Dids taking it another step mentally and physically, rather than on Leon. Dids can take a heavier central load for the club, while Leon simply needs the right role.

Exactly, rest him and get him cherry ripe for finals rather than making him carry injuries which reduce his explosiveness.

He will have zero trade value from this point unless he fires up in september next year (assuming we get there), if so then we wouldn't look to trade him anyway which now means he is a pie 4 life.

2010 is a massive year for Leon. I'm betting he will repay us.

I think it was all media speculation this week, and there was no intention on trading Leon.

I don't think he wanted to go either!

Brad Dick will be breathing a sigh of relief I'm sure.

Leons importance to the side from here on out isn't purely about what he brings individually to the team but his role as a leader to our younger aboriginal players.

Leons continual failure in Finals is a big concern though, He lets us down in September every time. Why cant he kick those party trick goals against quality teams in the Finals.???

Bucks will do wonders for Leon's confidence. Just you wait and see.

Nathan Buckley will add 20% value to each player's skills profile as well. Very Happy

It is fine to ask the question..."how much do we really know what goes on in the trade period behind closed doors?", and admittedely it is intrigueing to read about the many possibilities that could happen to the "cattle" in the club playing list, but very few posters would actually know half of what is going on.
For all we know Leon was never going to leave, neither was Josh, neither was N.Brown etc etc.
Anyone just anyone , please name me who was definetely going to go in a trade for Ball, could someone name that player(s) who were definetely being shopped around? I just want the truth not heresay.
