Well now, by all reports we did VERY well indeed in the draft. They seem like a bunch of fine young recruits. form all reports here, and in media. No midgets, all over 6 foot tall, thats a relief, we have enough small guys. So, after all the hoo hah, angst, stress, gnashing of teeth, over the departure of both Adam and Jayden, im just wondering, are we all good now, much more happy, satisfied, that we have done well in the draft ? Have we forgiven the Club, over all that saga, and are YOU going to move on now ? Me ? i have moved on, yes, im rapt we will have an exciting young list, that we cleared out some list cloggers, and we seem to have got some great youngsters coming in, the future looks very positive, for next season, and way beyond. And our finances would be now well back under control. We bit the bullet, short term pain, for long term gain.

Yeh, all is forgiven from me, and ive moved on. Very Happy

It is a bit hard to rate our draft results this early. All draftees look good on paper but history shows that they are not all going to live up to our expectations.

We know what Stephenson is capable of when he applies himself and how we drafted does not excuse they way Treloar was treated.

Exactly what list changes make you optimistic about next season?

I don't think anything that's been done makes us a more competitive team next year.
It's not as though we cleared out a bunch of list cloggers and brought in Ball and Jolly.
We cleared out some good players and brought in a bunch of kids that, quite likely, will play little senior football next year.
If we do well next year it'll be through our existing squad developing and not anything to do with the trade period (a disaster) or the draft.

No,the treatment of Treloar and Stephenson was shameful. And now it turns out we’re going to pay up to a third of Treloar’s salary for the next five years just so that he can play at another club.Jiust embarrassing.

I think the phrase "yeah / nah" is apt here.

2019 draft picks, 3 players - 4 games
2018 draft 6 players - 42 games
2017 draft 6 players - 137 games (one of which is Jaidyn S who is gone)

Based on history, we might expect the 2020 draftees to play 10 games in 2021. Not sure how this makes us any more competitive.

Nope.

Drafts picks look promising and pretty happy with the selections BUT not for Buckley as new voice, new direction required.

We've had 5 good players in 34 selections in the National Draft under Buckley's reign - not sure if that is a good return (~15%) in 9 years and/or how it similarly compares with other coaches.

(i.e. Grundy, De Goey, Langdon, Maynard and a F/S in Moore)
(and does not include the 6 in 2020 draft)

Lol, yes we seem to have done well with who we drafted with the picks we had

But are these players we picked up in the late first round going to replace two players who are top 10 draft picks that had a few years in the AFL system? Not even close

If you want to celebrate picking up pick 17 and pick 31 for 4 top 10 draft picks then good for you. But that’s what we’ve given up this year. 4 top 10 draft picks for pick 17 and 31...

What's that saying about the arsonist who helped put out the fire he started?

They are just 6 names on a piece of paper.
none have played a single game for collingwood.

Shall I remind everyone of the 2013 AFL Draft - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_AFL_draft

And whats stopping the club from trading them in 2 years for a packet of Rice Crispys?
