I personally think it is a wonderful achievement. Considering the time frame, the 100k was reached exceptionally quickly.
FB is a great way to reach the younger demographic very quickly and it covers PC and phone at the same time. With membership numbers set to top the 70k mark in 2011 mailouts and traditional message mediums will be excessively costly. Twitter, Email and FB reach almost 99% of your intended audience and best of all it is free. The electronic marketing team at CFC have really embraced the new age and lead the way on this one.

Same here d4p, it's awesome and forward thinking, ignore social media at your peril now days, cfc keep doing things better and are the pack leaders.
First afl club to 100,000 on Facebook, another record for 2010, it's a shame the smart arses have to try and chip it.

I think some of you take NPM a little too seriously. Personally, I get a good laugh out of most of NPM's posts (this one included). Treat them as entertainment, rather than serious social comment and (almost) all will be well.
I confess I think NPM's present sig is funny, too: "I gave my soul to the club and all I got was this lousy premiership". I don't have to agree with it for it to amuse me!! |
