We won the premiership in 1990 and in 2010.
There were(are)some great players in those 2 sides but there were some other great players who didn't play in a premiership.
This is my best side comprising Collingwood players from 1990 to now.

Heath Shaw - Michael Christian - Harry O'Brien
Nick Maxwell(VC) - Simon Prestigiacomo - Scott Burns
Dale Thomas - Tony Shaw(VC) - Gavin Brown
Peter Daicos - Travis Cloke - Darren Millane
Alan Didak - Anthony Rocca - Tony Francis
Darren Jolly - Dane Swan - Nathan Buckley(capt)
int - Paul Licuria - Josh Fraser - Scott Pendelbury - Graham Wright

Tend to agree. No way Josh is in Collingwood's best 22 over the past 20 years.

C'mon guys, I loved Monkey but he had the mobility of an easter island statue once he passed 21.

Ah Stui, but he won us that Grannie!

Essendon were getting beaten in the ruck, so had to move their big log from full forward (where he was killing us up to that point) into the centre to try & counter Monky's efforts = who kicked 5 goals in the 1990 Grannie!!

And on top of all that, Monky could swoop down low & gather that ball like no other giant going around!

Can I redo my side?
Whilst I still prefer Fraser to Monkhorst I can't believe that I left out McGuane, Paul Williams and Clement.
But who to drop to make way for them?
Gee we've had some good players!!!

I'd have Monkhorst over Fraser. Fraser was good for much longer but Monkhorst at his best was way better than Josh. Monkey's a strange one. Conventional wisdom has it that ruckmen, especially lumbering giants like him, peak late. Yet Monkhorst was at his best from 22 - 24. He finished top three in our best and fairest 3 years in a row and I think top 10 in the Brownlow once. Never made All Australian because the early 90's was the golden age of ruckmen (Stynes, Scott Wynd, Salmon etc). And then he went massively downhill. I think it was injuries. He was excellent at his peak though. I remember watching a game against West Coast in Perth in 1992. They were a great team, and Monkhorst pretty much single handedly got the Pies home by a point. One of the best games I've ever seen a ruckman play. And fittingly the game ended with the ball in his hands.
