Obviously we all held off buying the drawn DVD until we finally won, but now we have the two it promises hours of fun. Very Happy

Watching last week's game was pure unbridled pleasure. Seeing us execute the game plan to a tee. Watching young players who were nervous the week before, grow into titans in the replay. Re-living those magnificent highlights that confirmed what we all suspected (but didn't hope to believe at the time) the premiership was ours from the first bounce of the second grand final.

But you know what? The more I watch the drawn grand final, the more convinced I am that we have a dynasty in the making. Watching the DVD of that game really opened my eyes. We got of to a flyer, but it was fool's gold really. Didak kicked an outrageous goal, and Daisy's mongrel torp just got over the line for a goal. Somehow we just didn't seem to click like we had against Geelong. In reality I think most of the kids playing their first grand final were just plain nervous as hell (Sidebottom excepted).

But there was something about the way we fought that game out when we were far from at our best, that tells me more about the character of this side than the easy win we had in GF2.

Hayes and Goddard nearly dragged St Kilda over the line. It was a mighty performance by them, and full credit too.

But equally, I was so impressed by the efforts of our boys to come back from that crushing Goddard mark and goal. Honestly, most sides under those circumstances would have dropped their heads. But not us!

Dawes' handball to Cloke to put us back in front - was a sign of how intelligent a footballer he really is. No panic, just get the ball to your best option. Thank God Cloke kicked straight.

The way the boys fought out the last two minutes on the St Kilda forward line is the stuff of legends. It gave us the chance to strut our stuff in the replay. Maxwell's incredible save. Heater's brilliant over the head clearance straight to Daisy. Jolly - magnificent. Pendlebury as sick as a dog throwing his body in there (seriously it brought tears to my eyes). Nathan Brown, Toovey and Reid - heroes. Sidebottom - 19 years old with the head of a 15 year veteran. How bloody good were our young kids under incredible pressure?!

No wonder we were always going to come out and smash St Kilda in the second week.

What a wonderful team effort that was. A team will beat two out-and-out champions in the end.

The more I watch both DVDs the more I appreciate how good this premiership was. As sweet as it gets. Very Happy

Oh I forgot to mention one very important thing.

The joy of the Saints fans when they kicked those three goals in a row in the drawn grand final. Eric Bana going bananas and high fiving everyone, and Molly almost orgasmic with delight.

Watching the DVD and knowing the result, you can say, "Enjoy it while it lasts Sainters. You thought you'd won the flag. Ha ha! Have I got news for you."

Suck it up losers! Laughing

You'll also notice that Eric Bana and Molly were suspiciously missing in the second grand final.

So was Molly, but in a corporate box. Reports I heard said he left about halfway throught the final quarter.

Arnold Breidis' naming of the Norm Smith Medal winner - Scott Emblebury or something like that.

I agree. Nothing particularly special in extra scenes. Also dvd seems to skip and freeze. What can you expect when it is available almost immediately after the game..

Still I am sure that any Collingwood fan with some video editing ability could put something together that is way better.

I'm just waiting on someone making a Seasons Highlights video on Youtube...

If I did it, it would be awful...be lucky to be 10 seconds long before I made a mess of it...

I have watched the draw and the replay several times.

Sidebottom is without any question a once in a generation player. He'll captain our club one day. Very VERY special.

I agree completely. He'll be the captain after Pendlebury follows Nick Maxwell.

Ok my observations:

1. Umpires missed 7 clangers (but don't care)
2. Heath Shaw had a blinder 1st half
3. The Beast will only get better...his work rate was awesome
4. Steven Baker is a dirty little rat
5. Lenny Hayes had no help all day and got very frustrated trying to snype Dids
6. Dids can be an annoying player to play on
7. Kossi needs to retire or they need to trade him
8. Bally is one of the big differences in why we are better - his in and under work is awesome
9. We will welcome Andrew Krakouer with open arms next season...we still still a crumbing forward
10. WE WON THE FLAG!
