Bear with me - the story may be a little long.

My sister has been in hospital pretty much since the 18th of December (been out for a couple of days then back in). She had an operation, then had complications with the healing process afterwards. At 16 years of age it's fair to say she was pretty down in the dumps spending christmas and new year in hospital, and being very uncomfortable and sore at the same time.

On boxing day my sister got a visit from her favourite player - Tarkyn Lockyer. This was not an organised visit from the CFC, in fact they knew nothing of it. He came off his own back. Not only did he visit on boxing day but he stayed for over an hour. My sisters spirits lifted to the point where it affected her recovery. She will be out of hospital tomorrow.

Thankyou Tarkyn for taking the time to make a difference in another persons life. One hour made a big difference!

blanch thanks 4 sharing that with us,that was gr8 of tarkyn to spend over an hour with your sister,anyway how is your sister??,hope she is well,that was similar to a mate of mine afew yrs back a mate of of mine had a operation on his leg,cos after he was born came down with spinal minningitious,and afew hawks players came in and said hello sat with him for awhile,it shows that there are very nice ppl out there..!!

Most of our boys are fantastic like that.
It is part of their job but sometimes they do it in their own time and go over and above the obligitory visits.
It makes such a difference to people like your sister and also the sick, injured and disadvantaged ones to whom our players must seem like heroes.

Well done Tarko! A visit on Boxing Day is impressive.

Of course, I wish your sister a speedy recovery. I assume she is one of the faithful too!

I'll get in trouble for saying this, but Tarks is now public enemy number 1 over there and I think a story of this kind may make a few people eat some words.

I'm sure your sister will be fine as she is getting the best care there is....a sisters love.

How did Tarks know about your sister? You said it was not an organised visit from the club but then how did it come about? Did a family member get in contact with Tarks and told him the situation or what?
