I mean how in the hell was jason clokes goal from outside 50 only rewarded with 6 points? I think that a video umpire or something along those lines should be implemented to amend such mistakes. The Ump sure looked the fool when he saw the replay of clokes goal that was at least a metre behind the 50 mark. Stupid maggot

Yeah what a friggin joke!

With this pre-season comp they have about 12 umpires on the field and not one of those Stevie Wonder fans could see that he kicked it outside the 50.

I must also say that the Umpiring was extremley weak tonight for both sides, even lay a fingernail on your opponent and you get pinged, PATHETIC!

Surely they will introduce a video replay if this rule is to work ??

Im also confused as i thought as long as it was kicked from outside 50 its was 9 points. However if you mark it inside 50 but kick from outside its still only 6 points......happened to rocca in last quarter

What did I tell ya! (Memo to AFL, next year, third umpire required)

I'm not upset as was totally expected to happen to us. Funniest thing was seeing Pebbles trying to spot the mark outside 50 (they saw that though didn't they).

Ant you're right on the money with the third umpire angle. The umps do not have the ability to watch the play and keep an eye on the feet of the kicker to see if he is inside or outside 50. A third umpire would be easy to implement. Video could be reviewed while the ball is being transfered back to the middle after a goal.

I thought Didaks first goal was a nine pointer too. However I haven't watched the replay yet.

It has been pointed out, on another Pie website, that Didaks goal was given the correct score of 6 points.
The rule states that if the player plays on from a mark/free that has been spotted inside the 50, only 6 points can be awarded, even if the player kicks from outside 50.
If Dids h/balled, or kicked, to another player outside 50, that would count as a 9 point shot.
Cloke, on the other hand, was robbed blind......

I agree Ant.
I think Eddie and the other Club presidents should be pushing for mandatory eye testing of Umpires, especially Goal Umpires.
It is ridiculous the way they are allowed to officiate, when apparently some of them could and should be declared legally blind.

Hey i thought that Dids goal was 9 as well, it looked as if he played on which should make it a 9er, but again the Umpires wanted to ruin it for everybody!

Why couldn't the damn rule be simple, like basketball. Outside 3 point line is 3 points no other bs entered into.

When QuarterBrain stated it was a 9 pointer (Clokes), you know it was as he is a full on Dawk follower.

NOT HAPPY! Was so cool to see Clokey kick a 9'er, and then they say 6 points. Ripped off... Same thing happened last week too in the roo's game I think it was, and the player was clearly outside 50m then too. Something has to be done.
