Bomber Thompson let slip that they are negotiating a deal for a midfielder from a Victorian club.
Bomberblitz puts Beams in the mix.

Bomber Thompson says Essendon is chasing a midfielder. http://AFL.com.au says it's Josh Caddy: http://www.afl.com.au/n?125132 #tradeweek

I am a tad worried what you would do if you didn't like them. Shocked

Swoop, if you retain the 2010 premiership list hoping they will win a flag, you'll be sorely disappointed. Look at the Cats team of 2011 and 2007. You being in new blood and they improve the team.

I think JMac will be a Bomber, Beamer to the Lions, Toovey and the Caff to WA - we could get Clarke (Freo) and draft picks + Fev.

That a lot of youth and talent lost for a player with (admittedly) significant potential, some later draft picks in a shallow draft and a derelict former player. Would not be happy with this if it happened at all unless one of the picks was in the top 10 which it won't be.

In case you missed it or are a little thick

Quote:
''Pies midfielder Dayne Beams is committed to the club and going nowhere despite surprisingly being thrown into trade discussions.

His manager Peter Blucher, of Velocity, said he went to the extent of confirming Collingwood's commitment yesterday given the escalating speculation.

"I rang (football manager) Geoff Walsh because I had received so many calls but it is all complete and utter crap. It has never been discussed. We don't know how it started."

He said 21-year-old Beams, contracted for next year, had accepted his Grand Final heartbreak.

"He was injured, so it's a non-issue for him."'
