Veteran Players
Under AFL player rules, each club may nominate or list any number of what are called Veteran Player’s.
In order to be eligible for classification as a Veteran a player must have been the age of 30 as at September 30 in the relevant AFL season and be on the primary list of the AFL club for at least 10 years or in the case of Port Adelaide since the inception of the club.
From 2006 there is now no limit on the number of veteran players a club can list, as long as the player meets the required classification. _________________ Genesis 1:1 |

Think they also changed the rules so that they averaged out the cost of the contract to avoid clubs back ending the contract to free more of the contract from the salary cap. |

Mind you.... if he goes to the Blues he qualifies for Visygod status, where his salary will be adjudicated and considered reckless, -25% salary points, almost no impact -40% & very much 'ahead of play' -the rest. _________________ Assistant Coach # 23,738 |

This is the last year for the "10 yrs and 30 yrs of age". As of season 2013 any player who has 10 years service qualifies for the veterans list. There's also no limit on the number of players on the list.
This link has a story from the Age last year talking about the new veterans list rules in relation to Geelong and all of their older players.

Ok thanks for that. So years 3, 4 and 5 we can pay Trav 850 but only 750 will count towards TPP.
Theoretically. _________________ http://youtu.be/hvtdbfI1sqQ |
